Two weeks before this show came out I was a freshman in HS. There are two guys named Jeff in my group of friends (me being one of them) and we decided that one of us had to have a nickname so everyone could refer to us more easily. For whatever reason, we all decided I would be called Jefe. Fast-forward two weeks to the first episode of the show where Jeff introduces himself to Britta as "Jefe". I've loved Community ever since.

NBC even wanted the show to be originally called 'Community College' or something along those lines because they felt 'Community' was too vague, and Dan Harmon fought against them because he wanted to convey that the title wasn't in reference to the setting.

If you can't see a show like this extending past the college setting, something's wrong

More over, everything else in that pertains to college life/school. give an episode that doesnt have anything to do with that in any way shape or form. Your examples like "remedial chaos theory" "mixology certification" and "studies in modern movement" are invalid due to the fact that they are viewed as some of the lower points

The show's cancellation and low ratings really don't have any bearing in the matter, at least from my perspective. Chaos Theory is usually viewed as one of the best episodes, with great reviews from nearly everyone.

I still see no way that the show could not continue past community college given it's tremendous wit and charm. Whether ratings allow it to is another story.

Remember, we're talking hypotheticals here.

It's a great show with a great and loyal fanbase but the ratings are always low because they are on the same time slot as The Big Bang Theory,for example, one of the most watched sitcoms in the US (which is a great show btw). It doesn't attract ALL people and it's not for all people. I'm sorry, but I can't label that mainstream
