The DNC also featured a "Free Speech Zone" (implying that America in general is NOT a free speech "zone"). But there wasn't the heavy handed intimidation or the pre-emptive arrests to keep protesters off the streets. We saw something similar in NYC, though. People were locked up for the duration of the convention on trumped up charges only to have the charges dropped after the convention ended.
