My family goes to Star Island every year. My oldest is 23 and still makes Star her summer vacation destination and our 14-year old twins have gone every year since they were 3. This is a very special place!
I love this place. My parents took me to it with my little brother as a child. After my little girl was born in 2001 we have taken her back to a conference or two each year of her life, We will be at All Star 1 this year. We are life long Congregationalists but go to the Uniterian conferences about half the time and the Congregational conferences about half the time.
when i arrived on STAR ISLAND IN Aug.1974 ,in August/74, we stayed in the main Hotel.
Unitarian Church Camp...at that time.
Magical experience..heard the whales calling for their mates...so sad.
Watched Kormorants flying about,during the day...Peeked in a room in our Main hotel and sa the paperback book,'JAWS'. which was being filmed to the south of us ion that very Summer.
Worked on the crew that painted builings here about 1988 was a really cool experience .
