When I 1st saw this film back in the early 80's at the Vagabond theater in LA, this opening completely shocked me and blew my mind. I'd never felt shocked like that ever since by any movie.
This is a great film, very twisted in the best sense of the word 'Twisted'
At 0:26, that's director Samuel Fuller's hand that pulls Towers' wig off. I've seen this scene so many times but had no idea until Tim Robbins' movie about Fuller freeze-framed it.
In his autobiography Sam Fuller talks about how hard it was to film this because Steadicams weren't invented in the 60s and the cameras were HEAVEY; someone had to be placed behind the cameraman to make sure he didn't fall backwards. Fuller told Constance Towers to just hit the camera lenses with all her might.
This was the last scene filmed because Towers had to shave her head. Fuller said she did it "without any qualms." What a trooper.

I did not see a lot of nakedness or kissing. I did see a young Constance Towers who can bash me about any day!.
