lol the French "FOREIGN" Legion isn't made up of French people. That's why it's the Foreign Legion, and they aren't the best. The French spec-ops are the GIGN. The best Special Forces in the world either goes to the SAS, SBS, the Australian SASR or the Russian Spetsnaz. American's can say they have the best, but history proves otherwise and they are some of the worst.
American Delta Force are some of the most highly trained individuals in the world but if you truly wanted to crown a top spec op then you would have to look at India's special forces as far as im concerned they have achieved more than any other unit to date second runner would probably be the SAS but in all honesty it differs from individual to individual and there are plenty of people in the American Special forces that outshine some of the people in the SAS.

The fighting capability is quite limited, the US are pretty much good for Mechanised Warfare. Not much else. The British Challenger II MBT is quite superior to the Abrams and so is the French and German MBT. Australia has such a small Defence Force that they produce Quality over Quantity, simply can't afford losses.

WWI-unrestricted German submarine attacks led us into the war; WWII-Japan's bombing at Pearl Harbor. Notably, we went to war ONLY WITH JAPAN; Germany and Italy declared war on us a day or two later. We never wanted a part in Europe.

They hit the British airfields less, which gave the British valuable time to reorganize their RAF. It wasn't much better, but it was enough. Eventually, Hitler gave up. Control of the air means control of the sea.
It was an improvised force of British AND French ships and troops. You give France too much credit for Dunkirk.

Finally they went to Berlin. After that, Hitler sent them attacking cities instead of airfields, and the British could repair some planes and fight back. Yes, the French protected some of the escape, but if the British weren't there half of the escapees would have also been captured.

The Franco-Prussian War was Bismark taking lands with a large majority of Germans if it was not an actual German territory before. If anything, Napoleon inspired the German States to band together, so France's greatest leader led to the ultimate fucking up of France in 3 consecutive wars with Germany. Congrats!

American Delta Force are some of the most highly trained individuals in the world but if you truly wanted to crown a top spec op then you would have to look at India's special forces as far as im concerned they have achieved more than any other unit to date second runner would probably be the SAS but in all honesty it differs from individual to individual and there are plenty of people in the American Special forces that outshine some of the people in the SAS.

The fighting capability is quite limited, the US are pretty much good for Mechanised Warfare. Not much else. The British Challenger II MBT is quite superior to the Abrams and so is the French and German MBT. Australia has such a small Defence Force that they produce Quality over Quantity, simply can't afford losses.

So there's not many Infantry/Artillery/Armour. Like I said we simply can't afford losses. I am aware of how americans behaved in Vietnam, the reason was more or less about the soldiers being too loud. Walking and talking loudly, shooting entire magazines into the surrounds when landing via helo etc.

To be exact, the three European Union countries together: France, England and Germany produces more than all the united states.
For what concerns the wars, we lost only WW2. And the wars that your army supposedly won was all composed of a very famous French bataiilons: "the legion". This battalion is always at the forefront of each war to clean up before the Americans arrive (eg gulf war 1 and 2). In fact, the real coward are Americans because they call the French to win their war.

@superman74401 I think this is a misconception, I'm a US citizen and I know a-lot of great people that are French and I don't think they or any French person is a coward. You would be surprised at how much you and I probably have in common. Oh and not all Americans are ignorant or stupid, but unfortunately they are the ones who get the most attention by the media and...well the small few that make the whole/rest of us all look bad! Trust me, Americans hate them as much as you probably do too.

I'm agree with you except that you must know that french people loves the US. We can give our blood and our lifes for America as we have already done in the past for US freedom and as you have done for France freedom too.
We are just angry when we see people saying that french are cowards, frog eaters that we live in castles with cows and bread and of course that we used bicycles (the oldest one that you can imagin).

@superman74401 im starting to dislike america. people are so ignorant and think about them selfs. i feel like im the only caring person. and obama is leading america down the drain. hell, china owns 47% of frickin america. and if the congress fail to sighn a document before the end of december (need i say that obama wants this 2 happen) taxes will rise up in america. it sux now that we have to pay 7% now think about what if its 50% tax!
