Tool is not something you like or listen to, it is an art that you must discover. When I first heard them (under influence of my peers) I hated Tool, I said "their songs are too long. The lyrics don't make sense. It's just stupid" but then I decided to sit down on my own accord and give them a second chance (if I recall, I listened to 'Pushit' from 'Salival') and now they are probably my favourite band, or at least close second with System of a Down

Needless to say, the sex theory applies to almost all of modern day pop music, so it reduces the uniqueness of the theory.

@Dfrtx Interesting thought, but I have always felt all the descriptors you quoted where about embracing the pain in life whether body or soul and knowing that all that suffering is passing and it's okay to be in this moment and body as the pain will pass. It feels to me to be song of someone talking themselves down from some traumatic experience or painful existence and understanding that this too will pass. But I guess I won't say you can't interpret art in whatever way one chooses.
