  • what video format did you upload this onto youtube?

  • @got2bbeauty01 It's HD. Movie Maker doesn't do HD. Movie Maker sucks. Get a software that supports HD output. Unless Movie Maker changed, they it doesn't. In addition, you won't get maximum quality.

  • @CALICOTV301 Windows Movie Maker 6.0 does handle HD video. But I would just suggest converting from .mov format to .wmv format before editing in WMM.

  • @got2bbeauty01 Hmm sounds like it might be a problem with the camera settings? I am on a Mac and uploaded everything a-okay. When you transfer it from the camera does it fully transfer as a widescreen high def video before you try and upload it?

  • @got2bbeauty01 not sure. What are you using to upload with?

  • @lordmahan11 Absolutely, this is a sturdy camera. My previous Canon Elph lasted many many years.

  • i have this camera and when i try to upload in HD it takes HOURS 4 hours for a 3 min video

  • i just bought this and i noticed too that it doesn't auto focus which i really hate. do you think i should return it and go for the 300 HS? does that camera auto focus?

  • @MelonKneeVan I sold my 100HS and now use an iPhone 4S for all my video and picture taking. It can refocus during video recording easily, records in 1080p and works well under low-light conditions.

  • @Alexsvideouploads Not to say this the 100HS is bad camera at all... it's a top of the line choice at the current price range (December 2011).

  • so maybe mention it doesnt refocus in video?

  • @Alexsvideouploads yes u can, i have one and i can!its the know on the shutter button

  • I recently bought this camera and I filmed a video. I tried playing it back on my HP computer and it saved under "movie" format and plays with quicktime. Do you know how I can change that? I use windows movie maker and since its a movie file I can use it with this program :( Also what do you use to edit your videos?

  • @suzzieq07 Yeah, it should save as a AVI file, which Quicktime will automatically play. Not sure how to change that, I believe it's a permanent thing. This actually is an unedited video, but I do use iMovie for editing when I do. You have a PC I'm guessing :)

  • @suzzieq07 you can use various video converter to convert the video in other formats. I use Xilisoft Video converter . For Editing You can use Windows movie maker. But if you want edit the videos more professionally you can use Adobe Premiere or Final Cut pro (MAC)

  • can we zoom in or out in video shooting mode ?

  • @CrazyYuva No.

  • Awesome

  • Hello! thank you for the helpful video. I bought this but i didn't open it because i was fighting between this and panasonic lumix fh24, and fujifilm jx310. Could you please tell me if i made the right choice? the lumix was not doing well in high light conditions and fujifilm seemed bad in low light conditions. Thanks for your time....hope to hear from ya soon!

  • @brana1646 Hey, I found this camera to perform excellent in low light conditions and high lighting as well. The low light pictures from this camera really impressed me. The 1080p recording also was absolutely stunning from this camera. Since this review I have sold the camera, because I have an iPhone 4S now, and that is my go-to point and shoot.

  • I just bought that camera, but I noticed that it does not auto focus on video mode. I know nothing about cameras, do I have to set it on a certain mode?

  • @Maria0525 it seems to auto focus occasionally in video mode, from time to time. I haven't found a way of making it auto focus on its own consistently. try pushing the shutter button down slightly during recording, it might help.

  • how do you upload videos with this camera? i cant upload to facebook or youtube it says "uploading video please wait" then never uploads, do you have to change format of the video?

  • just bought this camera and intended to use it to record my music, and concerts i go to....i have a sd card but i can only record 52 seconds before it stops recording any help?

  • @xlxfinaldeathwishxlx how large is the SD card?

  • @TNRecordProductions camera does it automatically.

  • to make the quality1080p did u like do that in wmm or just direct uploaded the video?

  • @MelaAndValShow I uploaded it directly with YouTube's HD upload option. I am running a Mac Book.

  • @PokiDraco at 1080p, and an 8 gig SD card, I get about 26-28 minutes of video.

  • It doesn't seem to be doing any autofocusing... is that a problem just with yours, do you think?

  • @spasticsurgeon2009 this is a problem, for sure. it has a tough time autofocusing in video mode. I have found this problem while moving both further away and closer to an object. Annoying, yeah. Generally the lens focus level started with on the camera is what will be used through the whole video, although I have seen it readjust from time to time

  • @Alexsvideouploads I'm thinking about the PowerShot SD4500 instead, that doesn't seem to have the problem. What are your thoughts on that camera?

  • @spasticsurgeon2009 impressive zoom on that camera, apparently some battery life issues, and from what i've heard the autofocusing issues still exist with it... checkout the 500 HS as well. I'm not sure if these autofocusing issues are common or not, but I will google that right now

  • @Alexsvideouploads it appears all the cameras we are talking about here do autofocus during video on the spec sheets, so it should be able to do it, i suppose it's a matter of fiddling around with it - and the video mode doesn't take as great video as a photo from the same camera would. better lighting = better autofocus

  • @Alexsvideouploads

I think you need to push the button like if you were gonna take a picture in order for the camera to autofocus on video mode.

  • @skullmurdoc No, if you start recording a video that is the set focus you will have until you finish recording.. If you try holding the button down halfway to focus, nothing happens. If you press it down as if you were taking a picture the video will end.

  • wow pretty nice sound an quality

  • hi, the time of continuous recording in full HD has

    camera?

  • @nathancentty 1080p records for about 30 minutes with an 8 GB SD card.

  • @Alexsvideouploads oka, and supports capacity memory until the camera?

  • fucking thank you for this vid, it'll help me lots!

  • Does it have a macro setting for close up photos?

  • @ReelLibrarian Yes this camera does have a Macro setting for close up photos.

  • Does it have a macro setting?

  • is this better than sony wx 7 ???

  • hhgregg has this on listed as an underwater camera, is that an error?

  • @TheChelseaGabrielle this is not an underwater camera, unless you have additional gear attached to protect the electronic components from moisture

  • HERE IS A PLANT..I SMOKE IT BONG HIT SMOKE

  • hi! for the VIDEOS does it auto focus? Not sure how to explain this but when you are taking a video and you were to bring it up to a piece of paper with writing, would it refocus (while still taking the video) to be able to read the words clearly? thanks!

  • @cutetwe No. In my experience with this camera, it does NOT auto-focus during video mode very well (if at all). The focus setting that is used to start the video is used throughout the whole video. SOMETIMES it will refocus, but not often. This is one of my issues with this camera. It DOES NOT re-focus well during video recording!

  • I have this camera... I LOVE IT!!! just got it yesterday!!

  • @hockeygirl251 YES. It has been almost 3 months and I still am amazed at the quality. Can easily shoot Pro-looking videos and images.

  • Is the 100HS able to use optical zoom while in video mode?

  • @phych Nope and it can't refocus either.

  • Oh alright I gotch ya. Yeah and for the heck of it I might as well test it out at the store haha. Thank you very much for the help! Really appreciate it bud! And hopefully youll be uploading more reviews for products cause I'll be looking forward to the videos!

  • Hi, I have the Canon PowerShot A480, and I am interesting in purchasing the PowerShot Elph 100 HS. Is the Elph 100 HS alot slimmer then the A480? And I also use a PNY Optima SDHC 8GB card that holds 120 minutes in HD. Would that card be good to use in the Elph 100 if I do purchase the camera? Or would you recommend something different? *Note* I like to get the best quality picture out of my camera, without spending hundred's of dollars. Thank you. Great review by the way!

  • @sk8terjoe98 Hey, thanks. The A480 is much wider compared to the 100HS slim profile. Before this camera I had the SD1000, which is just as slim, and was a great Canon. I am astounded by the video quality that the 100HS records. Absolutely the best-in-class camera for the price, it a great low price for the feature set. Your 8GB Optima card should work great, do you know what class it is? The camera store guy upsold me on the class 10 card. I think a class 6 or 4 would work fine for videos.

  • @Alexsvideouploads Your welcome! I just checked the video card, and its a class 4. Not what I was hoping for because I was shooting for a 6 or higher, but the 300 HS caught my attention now haha. To get pretty good quality for HD video would you say more of a 6 or higher right? I am willing to spend the money to catch more detail in HD. Thank you for the response back by the way!

  • @sk8terjoe98 the 300HS is a very similar product with a slightly expanded feature set. The basic video functions and new DIGIC 4 image processor remain the same on both models. You can try shooting 720 or 1080 with the class 4 card, that's what I should have done! Try it out in the store and see how the SD card takes the hi-def video. It might work perfectly. I was just out at the beach today shooting some video. still astounded by the quality

  • @TheRealGeek001 battery life is excellent yes. better than previous generations in my opinion

  • @Alexsvideouploads how much can the battery hold of HD footage

  • Your plant is full with dust. I can see that because it's a awesome camera.

  • goo. gl/ Flb4C

  • please answer @starweet4 and my question! I am REALLY torn in selecting a canon because I got to a LOT of concerts and need zoom during video mode! does it zoom or not? thanks!

  • @marenaferrel This camera can zoom before you hit record, but not during recording.

  • @Alexsvideouploads Thats like Lumix, can't zoom while in video mode which i think is bad. canon used to make them zoom. Nice video quality though. How's the picture quality? thanks

  • @superchargewine1 Excellent video quality in 1080p, captures great detail. The photo quality is great as well, taking better low light photos with the new DIGIC 4 processor. Here's a sample pic I took of my cat:

  • really. it's made in china.

  • @Alexsvideouploads even Airbus is Made in China. LOL

  • My SLOW MOTION video mode test: watch?v=FrXdcwU9s54

  • is it made in Japan?

  • @Gjem5144 no sir it is made in China.

  • @Alexsvideouploads really? or is it sarcasm?

  • Just wondering: what is the size (GBs) of this video file? I'm considering upgrading to this camera and want to know how much space 1080p files take up compared to the 720p files I currently have.

  • took me 2 hours to upload. every 50 megs is about 10 seconds of video on this setting. so this video was about 500MB.

  • can you do a review of that camera, please??

  • can't optical zoom in during video right?

  • @starsweet4 Correct. Overall after a few days with this camera I am very satisfied with this camera. 1080p is great!
