Lifting up into handstand is hard work and there are many ways to do it. Daylene bends her arms a little to get more weight shifted forward over the solid foundation of her shoulder girdle. I keep my arms straight that's the only way that I can keep my shoulder girdle strong enough to support the transfer of weight forward. I would suggest you try it out both ways because the key point is being able to transfer weight forward over the solid foundation of your arms.
in the initial lift up, Daylene bends her elbows until the legs are about 2/3 of the way up and then presses up to straight arms. Kino, when you do a press up to handstand in other videos, you straighten the arms very early and then press up. Is the difference based on body proportions, and different needs in solving the problem of getting the torso vertical but forward enough to draw the legs up or is there another reason for the difference?
