He's very good, but his sound is a little unsettling for me. A little like a double reed in a way. Kind of nasally. I like the recording overall, though.

@librarydanceparty yes it is an interesting sound. But that's the most relaxed tone you can get on a french horn. Something I also try to get. Then I'll be able to play so easy :)

It's perfect for him is my opinion, because he started out as a violinist.

He started playing horn at the age of 20!

As a violinist you want to be as flexible as possible, so that's why he has this tone.

Lovely! Many years for me herr Damm's playing of Mozart Concertos is close to ideal. Every time I play Mozart Oboe Concerto I recollect Damm's great ideas in Mozart!

i have one cd with me. horn concertos for 2 horn. reiche, vivaldi, sperger, and something else.Damm and one of his collegue. if u send me your e-mail i a can send u the cd.

on cd i have all and also a lot dresden philharmoniker that he plays first horn. i also hunt him here but not so many recording with him.h eis the horn player of the century for me.
