  • Dave Great as usual , Thanx for playin a tele,Question could you do a linear riff that Plays Progression (I,V,I)Fassion?I Guess it would sound Kinda Neo Classic,if it was Legato,I've been trying this with Dif. Progressions , I Would Like to here your take on it?

  • Holy crap Dave.

  • i hope you have a playlist,

  • Hey dave.. why are most of the new vids not on your website??

  • getting caught up.

  • 1:55 epic face lol xD

  • Oh, RedBear! Love those pics. They really do have amazing sound to them. Just a little hint; don't try to test their durability by bending them, they will break in half. haha.

  • Is it the beggin on season 5??

  • next week.

  • awesome lesson Dave.

  • awesome vid dave, i kept having to rewind your explanation though. Found my self memorized with the track that was playing while you were explaining. Love your music, keep it up!!

  • Dave, What particular Redbear pick are you using? They have so many on their site, and they are all turtle shell color, where as yours looks clearish in the video.

  • I use the Big Jazzer H in a variety of colors.

  • Thanks Dave!!

  • About 23 years. Approximately.

  • Thanks Dave. Not been around for a while so just done a big catch up on your vids! Awesome stuff. Loving the new site. Props for that. Loved the tease at the end of this one too! Nice to see you getting a few more views too. Keep it up. :)

  • YAY LEGATO WOOOT

  • love that '52 hotrod

  • Oh.. My... Gah... I'm definitely going to learn that

  • lol...as a sidebar..

i was watchig the new adam sandler movie called funny people..and this guys name just made me start cracking up..

if you've seen the movie then u know what i mean...

    pz

  • Great work with this videos Dave, please look my private message

  • I checked out the red bear site couldnt find a button to buy the picks. but really $15+ for a guitar pick. Is it really that much better than the $0.25 dunlop ones i can get at guitar center

  • far better. far worth the price. Is $20 worth better tone and playability to you?

  • Mabye if i ever get good enough to start playing shows with ppl ill check them out. But i lose picks to often to blow 20 dollars for one right now.

  • yeah great vid as usual dave

i was sure u were on an amp to begin but then its revealed u on amplitube ..

anyone else faver guitar rig 4?..

  • I use both lol- they are both very different- but sound the same in quality, in GR you are using a more technical interface, with amplitube its more like a 'real' setup and is divided like a real signal chain - stomp boxes, amp and preamp, then cabs, then rack mounted-

guitar rig is more modular in its interface, the screen is divided into two halves, left and right - the right side has your amp and pedal, EQs etc. and the left is more like a control pane- with tabs for presets, components etc

  • Why don't you make a "sound like Joe Satriani" lesson. That would be great because lets face it,nothing sounds like Satriani's legato. We appreciate your lessons.

  • Great Vid Dave, Have you ever played earnie Ball music man guitars? or PRS maybe?

I'm having a hard time picking my next guitar.

budget aroud 1500 to 2000, played a couple different models but it's a bit hard for me to pick the right one, you know.

  • ...interesting "non-anouncement" t'wards the end there...what could it be...?

    Great ROTW as always, Dave.

    Keep Rock Alive

  • Hello Dave! I like this riff a lot, i would have to reverse this vid. 30 times to fully remeber it :). Have you got a TAB?

sorryy.. i im not really comfortable with notes ;)

  • rewatch the vid and listen for where the tab is.

  • Have you tried V-Picks?

  • yes

  • it would be really awesome having you teaching us the legato intro from ''shyboy''

  • so how old are you?

    24?

  • exactly.

  • ha ha ha..

  • awesome riff =)

  • Awesome Video Dave as always, you have helped my playing out quite a bit. Now I just have to find a band ha ha. Keep doing what you are doing man. Awesome stuff.

  • Thanks Dave

  • neat riff dave.. you play it so cleanly :)

  • Wow thats a sweet riff dave. Rythm aside, its awesome.

  • Dave, that is an awesome riff! It will certainly give me something very challenging to work on! Linear runs are where I'm most deficient. You're the best ! Thanks!

    Scott

  • Wow, that looks hard haha

    Nice riff :)

  • wow ive never seen a legato riff like that its was kinda weird seeing that after watching vai and satch just go up and down . Really original and i like it

Brilliant dave keep it up!! :D

  • Legato rules

  • it started with that linear Cmin stuff in the episode 51 and now this... you are making up some really mindblowing stuff that i can't play :-D but still... you are awesome guitar player and a big inspiration for me

  • Nice Riff Dave! Is that a Big Jazzer Heavy? I did check out RedBear a few months ago, but wasn't sure what would be close enough to a Jazz III XL to make me shell out the cash, cos they ain't cheap. :)

  • I play the Big Jazzer H. It slays the J3XL.

  • Cheers! I'll give 'em a try!

  • Right...you really to work on your Legato ,Dave..?!?!?!?

Nice line. I love the contour.

  • so let me see if get this right, legato is just play a scale, but playing all around the neck? or something like that?

  • Very cool riff Dave. I'll be working that out for this weekends gig.

    Mike

  • your soo good

  • Thanks for the vid Dave , good job..

  • Great as always! :D

  • very nice legato lick, finaly some legato that...do NOT sound like a bunch of notes...!!!

The key is Rythm...well YOU realy Spot the thing thank for the Musical Lick!!!

  • Cool legato lick :) doesnt sound like a "shred up and down scale" Thank you Dave, now Ive to practice it ^^

  • wow thx, awesome riff!!

  • also great sound on the tele, what amp do u have there??????????

  • it's a preset I made in Amplitube based off an AC30.
