  • Fancy gigging with a Beatles Tribute band??? UK. 07946 820790

  • hi! you can make a cover the One after 909 1969 version? thanks!

  • What strings did you use on this video?

  • @XxH3LLsB3LLsxX ROTOSOUND RS 88M (Black Nylon). Please see above description, "RS88M & RS88S with Hofner CT 500/1" video might be useful to you.

  • what a magnificent rendition of an already magnificent song

  • How do you remove the pick guard?

  • @XxH3LLsB3LLsxX When I got this Hofner, the pickgard was already removed. I guess it's easy to remove.

  • @kocuhu Did you buy that Fender BASSMAN sticker or did it come with the bass?

  • @XxH3LLsB3LLsxX I bought and put sticker after I got this bass. Please search "BASSMAN-Sticker--fdsh--Appear" on Google. It might be a bit bigger than Paul's.

  • hello, tell me where I can get the original Hofner strap, thanks.

  • @patrii9100 You can buy online. Please search "Hofner H65/50" on Google.

  • Great job!

    Japanese standards keep gettin' higher.

Could you do Penny Lane (if haven't done it yet)

  • I'm in love with your bass, buddy.

  • do the strip machine heads fit the contemporary fine

  • well, you can make a new cover of the beatles? for example, all my loving,i saw here standind there,etc...thanks

  • @patrii9100 Requests are always welcomed.

However, our band basically focus on songs released in and after 1966.

  • congratulations,you can make a lesson? thanks...

  • Nice work on all the little details on that bass, how did you remove the white neck binding that comes on the Contemporary Series to make it look like a '62?

  • @TheBloodnok I painted it brown. See the above description "Hofner5.JPG". I hear CT had no binding till 2006. But mine is made in 2008 so has binding.

  • Two little questions, if you can answer me,

Do you use flatwound strings or roundwound strings ? (rotosound = roundwound ?), and where did you have the famous bassman sticker ? from a fender bassman ? (oh and sorry for my english, I'm french).

  • @gorpusasasa 1: ROTOSOUND RS 88M are flatwound strings.

2: You can buy BASSMAN stickers online. Please search "BASSMAN-Sticker--fdsh--Appear" on Google.

It might be a bit bigger than Paul's.

(sorry for my English, I'm Japanese.)

  • @kocuhu OK ! thanks to answer me ! ありがとう ! ^^

  • Mind if I ask what your EQ settings are?

  • @ww2guy1945 I uploaded Dontletmedown-EQ.png. Please see the above description.

  • @kocuhu Awesome, thanks!

  • Waooow very well done, it's very very very close to the original let's say 99,9%

  • Great job The sound & the moves! Paul would be proud!

  • Really good cover! Keep up the good work. And what strings are you using?

  • @Scorpfan101 ROTOSOUND RS 88M.

  • where did you get the sticker? I really would want one!

  • @Cleatusbodean You can buy online.Please search "BASSMAN-Sticker--fdsh--Appear".

It might be a bit bigger than Paul's.

  • @kocuhu Thanks!

  • I'm planning on buying the Hofner 500/1, what amp did Paul use with it?

  • @CoIeStones Paul played through a Fender Bassman amplifier during Let It Be sessions. I hear "BASSMAN" sticker was removed from that amp.

  • @kocuhu Ohh I did'nt know that, did Paul use a Vox amp in the beginning?

  • @CoIeStones Yes. T60 or something.

  • very good!!! your bass made in germany or china??

  • @patrii9100 Made in China. I think all of CT series are made in China.

  • Coooool guitar

  • Hey man, sounds great! Which do u personally think is better between a hofner and rickenbacker bass?

  • @skwanderer69 I like both. But if I must choose one, I prefer Rickenbacker. I think nobody is suitable for Hofner but McCartney.

  • How do you do to paint binding?? I'm curious!!! :-)

  • @silviustube Just sprayed. But It tends to peel off. I should have sanded it first. See the description of the upper part. "Hofner5.JPG" is it.

  • I have an answer for you...How do you do to remove the binding neck? I have a Hofner contemporary like yours, but i have binding neck!!

    Thanks!!!

  • @silviustube I painted it brown. I hear CT had no binding till 2006. But mine is made in 2008 so has binding.

  • Amazing job. Thanks for sharing.

  • Really nice! you make it sound and look really easy!

  • What a strange tone, Sound really nice though!

  • This is perfect! Awesome playing, man!

  • Good job and great tone!

  • Beautiful job!

  • are these the short scale strings that you have on the hofner? as want some myself just don't know which ones will fit the best

  • @ONdorch I use the medium scale strings. Please see above description, then watch "RS88M & RS88S with Hofner CT 500/1" video.

  • Great bass!

  • nice tone

  • Do you think we could see a Come Together bass video?

  • Is it easy to remove the pickgard?

  • @TheEpicCrunkKid10

When I got this Hofner, the pickgard was already removed.

    I guess it's easy.

  • @TheEpicCrunkKid10 I don't know if it's too late, but you shouldn't the pick guard on the Icon because the holes for the screws are visible and the middle screw scratches a circle in the middle.

  • @TheEpicCrunkKid10 I did it on my Höfner 500/1 and it was not easy... The pickguard is maintained by two nails (bridge and neck) which are not easy to remove without pliers. But I did it.

  • hey you think you can do the cover of Something with this bass?

  • @animepwn3r

I know some say McCartney used Hofner on "Something".

I'm gonna try during a few months.

  • @kocuhu thanks :) by far you have the best beatle bass covers ive heard, i can actually hear the bass and the video isnt all distorted

  • Yeah, please try it, it's me who mentioned you about short scale strings so I feel a bit embarresed

  • What if take some silk off? Just to get open up nylon a bit after the nut.

  • @VladL01

Even if you cut silk off, they're slightly short.

But thanks to the zero fret, it might be worth trying.

Please see above description, then watch "RS88M & RS88S with Hofner CT 500/1" video.

  • Be careful, RS88S (for short scale) is too short for Hofner bass.

    It's true. I've tried.

The distance between tailpiece and bridge is longer than other short scale basses.

  • nicely done man I like the black background

  • Hey man! I play a Hofner contemporary, and I really want these strings.. Do I need to buy short scale?

  • @Chunkymount

My first (and only) strings are Rotosound RS88M Tru Bass 88 Medium Scale Strings. But some say RS88S (for Short Scale) are more suitable. I can't judge. Please take a look at my Hofner's photo to imagine how long RS88M are.

  • @Chunkymount Let me know if you got the answer by now :) I'm also interested in these strings and i got a Short scale Beatles Ignition

  • @Chunkymount Let me know if you got the answer by now :) I'm also interested in these strings and i got a Short scale Beatles Ignition. And if you tried it out, i'm looking forward to know if it's suitable and reliable product

  • @psykomatik I play a Hofner Conteporary violin bass, getting these strings at the end of the month. I will let you know how they turn out :)

  • @Chunkymount You'd need to buy either medium or long scale strings because of the location of the tail piece on the hofner bass but i think kocuhu is using the medium scale strings

  • where you get bassman sticker!!??

  • @LEEUMSK8

You can buy online. Please search "BASSMAN-Sticker--fdsh--Appear".

It might be a bit big than Paul's.

  • @kocuhu will the RS88M fit on the icon???cause its a 3/4 scale neck like the CT right???message back..i appreciate your time

  • @LEEUMSK8

I don't know whether the RS88M is suitable for the icon series or not. (Probably yes.)

I think you have to at least cut nut grooves because of the thickness of the strings.

  • @kocuhu i just recevied my Roto RS88M last night on the icon..and they work great,i had to cut the nut slot a little bit though..they make the bass look and sound so much better huh!!!next im gonna get the BASSMAN sticker!!!

  • I think RS88M are a bit too long for the Hofner, RS88S more prefferabale.

Anyway, are they OK for Hofner's bridge and nut?

  • @VladL01

Thanks for your suggestion. I will try RS 88S.

RS 88M are very thick, so I had to cut the nut slots by myself.

I uploaded my Hofner's head photo.

See the description of the upper part. "Hofner2.JPG" is it.

I am satisfied with RS 88M so far.

  • what strings do u recomend for this bass pyramid or thomastik in feld??message back

  • @LEEUMSK8

I have never used strings other than RS 88M.So I can't recommend.

I am interested in thomastik than pyramid.
