  • when bob is jumping on him is hilarious

  • i dont laugh easily but this scene made me laugh

  • I wish Bill Murray would perform Heimlich on me if I choke on something.

  • We're gonna need a bigger boat

  • Ahahahahahaa I love bob

  • Just press 8 for the best part of this scene. "He faked suicide, eehhh??"

  • love this movie :D

  • From 2:28-2:32, when Dr. Marvin told Bob to call him Dr. Marvin in his home, does that mean that Bob can call him Leo in his office but Dr. Marvin in his home?

  • How many ppl here remember that look that Faye gives Leo at 0:57 that your mom gave you when you fucked up at the dinner table when company was over and you knew were getting an ass whooping that night when they left...lol

  • Hand shucked not hand chucked.

  • Love Bill Murray!!!

  • im in highschool, im a sophmore in a class of seniors, and when we were watching this part in class it was giggles, then soft laughter then cracking up at the mmmm scene

  • It sounds like Bob is having an orgasm at the start of this scene lol.

  • IS THIS HAND CHUCKED?

  • MMHMHMHMHMHM.

  • Bob doesn't like Tomatoes

  • So great to get a breath of fresh air into the family! Go Bill!

  • Bob, are u afraid of death? yea lol as he gulps

  • will you STOP THAT PLEASE?!

  • the weak point in this plot is that a "normal" familly would never accept such a situation where a patient is invited at home.

  • @rudhouse1 - Quit over-analyzing and eat your popcorn, okay? LOL

Seriously, I think the point's supposed to be that the family is rebelling from the way Dr. Marvin runs things--never getting out of the psychiatrist mindset when even as home (witness how Anna gets exasperated with him when he insists they have a father-daughter talk with hand puppets). Compared to Leo, Bob's like a breath of fresh air.

Anyway, even if it is a plot weakness, this is still a very funny movie on its own terms.

  • Leo 's starting 2 crack up!!

  • The Heimlich maneuver was also used to great effect by Bill Murray in GROUNDHOG DAY.

  • WILL YOU STOP THAT PLEASE!! HAHAHA

  • "but in your office you said i could call you leo."

"that was in my office. in my home you will call me dr. marvin."

haha i practically have this movie memorized(:

  • @calichick30 That was funny and confusing. The confusing thing was once Bob and Dr. Marvin first met in Dr. Marvin's office, Bob asked him if he should call him Dr. Marvin or Leo with Dr. Marvin saying to Bob "whichever you like." But here, he tells Bob to call him Dr. Marvin. (I guess in Dr. Marvin's office Bob can call him Leo but at home he should call him Dr. Marvin).

  • this part always has me laughing

  • wats vup bicthes

  • fay, this is scrumptious. is this hand shucked?

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmm-mmmmmm-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-mmmmmm-mmm, this is delicious. Mmmmmm-mmmmmmm.

    WILL U STOP THAT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LOL

  • dont panic i know what to do

  • that kids fuckin creepy.

  • I want someone to sit at my dinner table and make those same sounds and give me those kind of compliments! :)) LOL!

  • The kid has a point. If you ever just think about it... You're going to die, it's going to happen. That's is kind of scary to think about. That's a day I am not looking foward to that's for sure. I wish we could live like 300 years but, oh well.

  • @IrishChris1979 Even if you lived 300 years, you would still have to face your own death eventually.

  • @javery100

Oh yeah of course but... At least I would have that extra time with my wife, family and friends. Plus the extra time to do more things here on earth.

  • The way Drefuss plays this character is amazing. He looks like a ticking time bomb about to go off at any second. That's true acting. Can't say enough about Bill's performance either. Brilliant!

  • @tlv156 This is how Drefuss is naturally though.

  • i love bill murray i wish he can stay at my house!!

  • Bob's lyrics during their Singing in the Rain scene is the best part about Singing in the Rain; better than the movie and parodies that follow!

  • In the dinner scene Ive always wondered how many takes it took to get it so they arn't laughing cause it probably would take me a billion gazillion without laughing.

  • i stopped getting excited about d movie when bob became everyones favourite person only dr m can see d guy is a crazy psycho

  • Dreyfuss' performance is excellent in this movie, he should have got an award for it.

  • @someguy6481 no he shouldnt he didnt do anything special.. the only actor in the movie is bill murray he carries the entrie movie

  • am i imposing? well wtf do you think??? love this movie but bob was annoying. i defend leo on this movie..................patients and doctors never associate outside of the professional setting.................not to mention impose like bob does in this movie grrrrrrr!! lol

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

  • @CrazyJustin2006

    what was that exactly?

  • @CrazyJustin2006 That line my friend is funnier when written down than in the movie, biggest laugh ive ever had reading a you tube comment. . . . . .

  • the dinner scene was even more hilarious to me considering I am eating dinner right now.

    I love this movie

  • Haha I love Bob at dinner!

mm... WILL YOU STOP THAT PLEASE?!!!

  • Get him off me....GET HIM OFF ME!!!! xd

  • @Steven197981 I wish all house work was this much fun like they were doin the dishes.

  • Leo, God wants you to keep Bob for the night.

  • @orlandobabe His slicker?

  • Is it just me, or did they used to do the Heimlich Maneuver in every single comedy?

  • @sw0rd0fadvers1ty I know thats generally the heimlich Maneuver but I think thats bob's version lol..

  • is the little kid from 'Hook'?

  • @mrpolaroid123 Yeah, same kid.

  • @sw0rd0fadvers1ty I knew I recognized him from somewhere!!

  • @mrpolaroid123 Where is Sigmund? I want him to come to the zoo with me.

  • "...Leo, do you want the breast?"

  • the poor kids having a mid-life crisis at like 10

  • @purplerkate I guess that comes with being the son of an egotistical self-indulgent shrink...

  • @purplerkate I'd have a mid-life crisis the moment I was born if my parents named me Sigmund.

  • well, that must be a very good dinner for him to keep groaning like that.

  • "and ill put it in fay and leo-I MEAN- dr. marvin's refrigerator!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • I just never gave up hope....

  • lmfao! Leo gave his son that death threat look @ 1:15

  • Tourette syndrome....Is it me or do I have a pretty good idea what direction this is conversation is going to take?

  • @2:57 smokin sum good shit

  • 2:29. his first sign that he`s going crazy

  • poor doctor

  • Has anyone ever noticed Bob's reaction to the thunder at 6:06? It's so funny! Hahaha.

  • @Steven197981 OMG! I never noticed that! ;O

  • From 5:07-5:12, was Dr. Marvin talking to himself or was one of his family members or Bob listening to him where he was talking to that person?

  • @afriendofbean He was talking to all of them.

  • Thank you. However, it looked like he was talking very quietly and nobody was listening to him since his family and Bob were all singing very loudly that they probably didn't hear him. Then at 5:17, he started talking very loudly where everyone heard him and they stopped singing then.

  • From 8:42-8:51, it was funny how Dr. Marvin was brushing his teeth with his finger.

  • From 4:08 to the end of the movie, I feel like saying to Dr. Marvin, "you should at least say thank you to Bob even though you were rude to him." Of course, if Bob wasn't there, and once "Good Morning America" arrived the next day, it would be sad and strange that the family said to the television crew "Leo Marvin is dead" and luckily, if Bob didn't track down Dr. Marvin on his vacation, and once Labor Day ended, Bob would have wondered where Dr. Marvin was.

  • @afriendofbean but the reason Dr. Marvin choked was because of Bob saying "Your book is gonna do a lot of good for a lot of people....I'm walking proof of that." and then he started choking. So if Bob wouldn't have been there, Leo wouldn't have choked.

  • I actually didn't know that. I thought Dr. Marvin choked because he took a mouthful of chicken at 2:06 and swallowed a chicken bone. I can also tell that he probably choked all because of Bob saying "Your book is gonna do a lot of good for a lot of people. I'm walking proof of that" because he looked up at 2:57 and then choked. (I guess the two reasons he choked was because, he hated Bob and was hoping Bob didn't embarrass him the next day, and he was also nervous to go on television).

  • "GET HIM OFF ME!" xD Man This movie is so funny.

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @badgerman47 I think siggy smiled at bob.

  • More knee! Hit him harder! Jump higher! And then he just keep jumpn on him afterwards. lmao to funny

  • only in a movie would a patient would end up living with his therapist's family on their holiday

  • hit him harder !! i like how the knee-slams continue even after the food is dislodged

  • leo reminds me of the guy in the first Jaws that is like rich and knows alot about sharks or something

  • Leo- oh. I'm sorry, I mean Doctor Marvin, i such a selfish, stuck up, self righteous, douche. go jump in a lake

  • i just ate, and this is making me hungry again.

  • Why are they putting clean dishes into the dishwasher??? 4:48

  • I hate Bob.

  • Whoah! 4:44 Nice left-handed plate catch Fay!

  • Richard Dreyfuss has great comedic timing. People with a limited sense of humour dont get it.

  • what the hell is he doing?? is he trying to kill the guy?? seriously though, that's really funny. kathryn erbe is fabulous too

  • LoL...one of the greatest flicks

  • Isn't give trying to dislodge food from someone's throat by jumping up and down on them as they lay on the couch like giving CPR to a heart attack victim on a bed?

  • At 4:33 or so did Bob or the Doc "fart" for real or as a gag, or was that just the creaking of the couch springs? lol I know that sounds like I'm paying too much attention to the details for gags, but I'm just curious.

  • @CWillis90 I've watched this movie as a kid dozens of times, and I've always thought I heard a fart there. I don't think it was an intentional gag, though.

  • Call him by "Leo" in his office but "Dr. Marvin" in his home?? Does that make sense?

  • That's a good point. He should be saying to Bob "in my office call me "Dr. Marvin" but at home you can call me "Leo." Also, when he first met Bob he told Bob that he can either call him "Leo" or "Dr. Marvin" whichever he liked when Bob said to him "should I call you "Leo" or "Dr. Marvin?"

  • THIS MOVIE IS SO HILARIOUS

  • He can borrow my SLICKER!

  • that dinner looks real good!! soul food!!

  • I'll assume I'm in the minority here but it's actually the Doc I feel sorry for, + there's nothing more annoying at the table than someone constantly making that noise no matter how sick they are!

  • @rmephh There are some that actually felt bad for the character of the doctor in the movie (Dreyfus), even though Bob is portrayed as harmless and fun and the Doctor the bad guy who wants to ruin the fun

  • Poor boy ... I used to have those anxieties too. When I was little I used to dream about dieing and cry in the middle of night about it.

  • and now he's in there with our son! LMAO

  • I love it when Bob lays him down on the couch and starts jumping on him. Leo...I mean Dr.Marvin is such an a-hole in this movie...some one just needs to punch Mr.Holland in his Opus....lol

  • @PervySage6931 lol, yeah but to be fair, I can't really blame him for being annoyed!

  • @PervySage6931 Punch Mr. Holland in his opus...rarely does a comment actually make me laugh out loud, but that one did it.

  • @PervySage6931 Y'know I agree that he's an a-hole. The whole point of the movie is to show that a man with many phobic problems can be a very sensitive person and a very good psychologist. Dr.Marvin is an egotastical therapist who doesn't have first-hand experience with mental trauma and spent his whole life bs'ing his career.

  • XDDDDDDD i love the gutmens

  • ♥♥♥ LOVE IT!

  • I love how hes taking over the family LMAO

  • I like when Fay starts cum listening to Bob get horny over her cooking at 1:47.

  • @tiuric77 , yeah that was cute.

  • "Your gonna do a lot of good for a lot of people im living proof of that",then he chokes.-Priceless lol
