Under Canadian health care laws, the provinces cannot pick and choose what to pay for. They pay, no questions asked. That's the law.

If I need an appointment, I just go to ASL (Local Health Agency) and schedule my visit (medium time: 1 month). If it's more serious, I go to hospital. Ameritards, in general, are one of the most undisciplined when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. I see so many people every day who are basically immobile, the sole reason appears to be they are FATBUCKETS. Under Canadian health care laws, the provinces cannot pick and choose what to pay for. They pay, no questions asked. That's the law.
In the US, the insurance companies dictate what a Doctor can and cannot do. More often than not, they pick the cheapest procedures. Obamacare kind of fixes that, to a point.

Beyond that, my father has severe heart issues, and was forced to move to Canada after his disability term with his job ran out, and he had no access to healthcare. Canada does not have a socilist ghovernment and Canada does not have socialized medicine, if you knew what socialized medicine really is. The only socialized medicine in North America is in the US,- DOD and DVA health care. The insurance company burteaucrats who run the US health care system are lying to you, not us.

When your government can haul you before a committee for what you say, then I think if that government isn't Socialist, it's something, and not something good. I like Canada, I just don't want to live there, and I don't want your health care system. Americans generally stay out of Canada's business, in fact, most Americans rarely even think about Canada, why are Canadians sooo concerned with our healthcare system?? Let us be!!!

@plutogirllovekj Canada does not have socialized medicine. Canada has a single payer system. The two terms are mutually exclusive. A system cannot be socialized medicine and single payer system at the same time, since the are direct opposites. The fact that you don't know that shows how uninformed and distorted your thinking is.

@plutogirllovekj Who decides what is hate speech in the US, because it is handled eactly the same in the US as it is here. Hate speech is not covered by the First Amendment in the US. It is crime.

You're wrong, yes citizens can sue other citizens in the U.S. for anything even speech. But there is no law forbidding any kind of speech and the Government cannot prosecute you for what you say, this is not Germany or Canada!! Please give an example of an American being prosecuted by it's government for their speech. You can't because it does not happen!!!! Otherwise all of the KKK would be in prison, and so would a lot of other people. You don't know what you're talking about!!!

This handled exactly the same way in Canada as in the US. Defamation and incitement to riot are not permitted. The case that I suspect you are referring to was defamation.

Are you crazy, there is no criminal laws for defamation in the U.S. Again, I asked you to supply an example and you can't give me one. I as a private citizen can sue someone for defamation, and win or lose, if I win, I can get money for damages if I can show damages. But the Government cannot and does not criminally charge people with defamation!! We don't haul people before crazy ass bureaucrats to explain their actions!! And another thing, we don't do is ban books like Canada!!

You are obviously in denial, as I said, please show me one example of a U.S. Journalist going to prison for defamation. Steyn himself has written about your crazy Human Rights Commissions and how it's inhibiting free speech. You haul people before these commissions for saying insensitive things about minorities, that would never happen in the U.S. Again, the KKK would be shut down if this were the case, they would not be allowed to rally all over the country giving crazy speeches!!!

You keep your wonderful health care, I will keep and treasure my right to say whatever I want, even if it hurts or offends others, without being hauled before a committee of government employees, who get to determine whether what I say is hate speech or not!!! LOL!! I even remember a professor who posted the Muhammad cartoons at a University getting in trouble with one of these so called "Human Rights" commissions!! Teaching evolution is banned in most of the US. gay marrige is legal in all of Canada while the backward US has banned it in most of the US. Those are thwo of the freedoms we have THAT you don't. There are no banned boooks in Canada. You're thinking of the US where books and ideas are banned, not so here.

Ha Ha Ha teaching evolution is not banned in the U.S. Now I know you're just one of those crazy Canadians who believes every stupid stereotype that you hear about Americans. Yes we have evangelicals who actively protest evolution and would like creationism to be taught instead, but cases have gone all the way to the supreme court and they always come down on the side of Evolution being taught. Please give me one State that bans the teaching of evolution, I will be waiting!!
