@1Doz: no it wouldn't, but what would you want to achieve? get rid of the crackle? look a the "Crackle not okay" by soulsonic, he uses a pregain knob. The output level knob only turns down the volume, but if you have the pedal on full bore, it distorts a lot, and not in a pretty way (at least not when the amp is clean). The superduper for example uses the concept of a volume knob plus a gain knob, that way you can set the amount of drive.
Oh I think it might. An output level knob would let you crank it to distortion without having to bludgeon the front end of your amp. That is, it would be a master volume. Colorsound added an output level control to the reissue Overdriver pedal for this very reason. Back in the day it was designed as a clean boost, but it turns out it crunches nicely when cranked. The extra control lets it get grindy while keeping the volume to the amp at a reasonable level. Same logic here.
@1Doz okay maybe we're misunderstanding each other. I agree that a master volume is a good idea if you want to get the distortion. I meant if you only had one knob, an output volume instead of the crackle okay wouldn't be a good choice, as the gain on full doesn't sound that great. cheers.
yes. but its not all true about hiend encrease. it eats a litle of lows bit thats do the sound more readable and clean on chord etc. So its kind of change the sound a litle.
There are so many clones with the same transitor,the same internal parts but half price =P

how would I increase the clarity like this pedal does without spending so much on the pedal?

That's the crackle. But that's okay.

@qweewqaz
Seems like this pedal could be improved with an output level knob. Or would that be over complicating things?

I see where you're coming from now. Yeah, if you're limited to one knob then it should be the crackle okay.

so does it basically increase your output?

@Zachain That's what a booster does. But this also increases clarity in your signal.
