There is SO much running in this show, it's like in The Doctors Daughter when Jenny asks what they do and Donna replys "running, there's an awful lot of running involed".
I think the reason why this scene is so effective is that the doctor seems so terrified and vulnerable. This is a guy who'se faced down Satan himself, lived nine centuries, seen galaxies die… and when we see him in so much pain, screaming at Martha to run, it really cements how bad the situation must be.
That vioce that keeps saying, 'Inpact in 3:43 ' is getting on my nerves. How calmly it says it. It's almost as annoying as the women on the sat nav if you've missed your turning. 'Please turn left in 30 yards.'
@ffangsgirl Or the woman who does the voice for supermarket self checkouts? I had a conversation with a friend once about how she must hate going shopping
I must say, McDonnell probably had the bravest death I've seen in the series.
I wouldn't have had the guts to willingly jettison myself into a sun. Then again, she would've been burned to a crisp whether or not she sacrificed herself.

This episode is like a mix between the Satan Pit and Midnight. While I don't love it as much as Midnight, it is very awesome. ^_^
