  • sweet! I love this movie!

  • I wanted to watch this, but I didn't want to watch it alone, so I decided to watch it here. Just seeing other people's comments makes me feel a little less uneasy.. i'm still ready to sh*t myself though.. xD

  • @MystiqueBliss I just finished watching it and I have to say I'am a bit disappointed cause it wasn't as scary as I thought, but still a good movie. If you want to scare yourself O..o watch The Grudge, it scared the sh/t out of me

  • @uffir true! I finished watching it myself and the famous scene with the TV wasn't so scary as the american one imho. I liked the overall feeling, but it left many things unanswered.

  • @uffir Tge grudge..you mean Ju-on( if thats how u spell it) or do you mean THE grugde?

  • Kind of predictable that the two girls in the start were home alone

  • Haha I watched both ofmthe American remakes and loved them! They weren't scary, but still my fav movies.the ring two wasn't scary at all!

  • "And one week later the kid died." said the girl, laughing.

  • anyone else bothered by how long they took to answer the phone?

  • @cherokeediamond well in the part 4..after when her male friend is done with watching that sadako's video...she closes the window then at that time..a face of a lady comes in view on the window.....(i tried to find it...but i couldn't find it though :(

i came to know about it on the reality show....well hope this helps u though ... :D )

  • Have you ever noticed how people in horror movies always take forever to answer the phone? I know they're scared, but that's just rude.

  • The American remake didn't scare me. So I'm watching this one to see what all the Ring hype is about.

  • most boring movie, too slow!!

  • I'm a big fan of ju-on and love japan's horror. I'm can't wait to see what horrors this movie has!

  • why do i find asian girls laughing so god damn creepy?

  • american version suck!

  • i really love this video,... promise

  • The Ring scared me more, but I love this, too. I love a lot of Asian horror movies. Most of the remakes are crap, the Ring was the only good one.

  • I Like more the American Version D:

  • This is great but....I HATE HOW IN EVERY JAPANESE MOVIE I WATCH THEIRS A GIRL NAMED Yoko! In the grudge, this movie EVERYWHERE!!! Raaaahhhhhhh!

  • great film, great quality, great upload......keep em coming!

  • first time I saw ring, I couldn't sleep. I really traumatized !!

    US remake version is crap.

  • waittt hang on a sec at 05:45 there are two phones next to each other....

why do they need two phones???

  • @gotchagirl9 so crazy ghost cn call with out any hassel

  • is there a cursed tape of the ring?

  • This is much better than the American Remake

  • The mom kept the phone ringing for 2 minutes to say she will be a bit late.

  • this guy who wears blue suit is he a she or heeeeeeeeeeeeee :))

  • Whenever I watch the movie, then I am suffering from a persecution complex and I'm afraid of the Television. :D

  • @LollipopfreakXX96 :D me too

  • once i had to wear a long plan white dress for a school play. I have long black hair too, and i was waiting in the classroom all alone. I had my ipod on, and i kinda was tired and clawing on the desk and my hair was in my face. I didn't realize the light was off, and when my teacher walked in the room, she screamed so loudly she broke the windows :] i wound up scaring her more when i jumped out of my seat and walked to her, because i tripped over a stupid wire getting up and crawled on the floor

  • @MarilynMacron ... ROFL

  • @MarilynMacron

You should have jumped on her :D

  • @MarilynMacron LOL That must of been funny.. seeing the look on her face hun.. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself though..

  • @MarilynMacron LOL! That's awsome. xD

  • @MarilynMacron :D Thanks for the laugh. My brother just killed himself (I'll have nightmares about the strange look on his face for weeks!) and I need the boost. Really wierd stuff. Hell! Some fool just turned the t.v. on in the next room. Damn roomates! I'll post a reply to this when I get back from turning it off. Last week I watched this really wierd VHS tape he had in his apartment.

  • @MarilynMacron that is such a fucking lie.

  • @DisneyStarsTube Somebody with the name "DisneyStarsTube" shouldn't be swearing. It will discourage the young kids.

  • @MarilynMacron All of that is believable except for the mirrors part.

  • @MarilynMacron wow her scream broke the window !?! something like that happened to me b4! i made ppl shit out rainbows and ponies and they all were laughing in pain !

  • @MarilynMacron ROFL

  • @MarilynMacron If this is true, this is amazing.

  • Gotta love whoever posts these films on youtube, cheers matey

  • Wow, that reporter lady really cant tell that hes flirting with her.

  • @DrownedInEmptiness Yeah Americans with their capitalist instincts are just copycats sometimes. "The Japs made a cool movie, uh, let's remake it and make money!". Yuck.

  • At 8.27, is that a boy or a girl? First I thought it's a male, but in some respects it looks a bit like a female. Sweet mimic anyway.

  • Baseball is terrifying.

  • SLIT MOUTHED WOMAN REFERENCE!!! Not the movie, but the legend... :D

  • @Critiqu3 Yay! Kuchisake Onna!!!

  • I like that they are snacking on potato sticks @4:21

  • anyone see the ritz box on 2:31?

  • Ringu is a great horror movie

    the ring is fun! u.u

  • American movies are more simple and just are in it for the money that why they steal movies and call them remakes lazy bastards but America was built off that so it's nothing new

  • @BlackMonkTV There are plenty of brilliant original American horror movies out there. Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, The Omen, Scream, Psycho, Final Destination etc. But remakes do suck.

  • Aw yeah. I saw the American version on DVD and saw an ad for this. Can't wait to see the whole thing.

  • least no forget this movie was made in 1998 and the ring sometime around 2004

  • i like them both, i like samara better then sadako, but this was alot creepier

  • In asian horror movies are always a girl named Yoko. lol

  • @SerenetyHolmes75 The producers must've hated yoko ohno for breaking up the beetles

  • Sometimes less is more, it makes the whole movie more believable, plus it`s a japanese horror movie and to fully understand what they mean by fear or horror, you should at least know some of their basics of their general life, their historical past/background and so on. Maybe then you`ll be capable of fully enjoying the movie in all it`s ways.

  • all assholes saying "american version is better" gtfo

i don't understand why u purposely come here to share your shitty opinions

  • @TomValedro

no, the american version is lamer and non scary

go troll somewhere else u biased cock

  • @atomichead777 Nah, this isn't scary at all. American version has a better ambience and the effects are also better. Also the ring video is way creepier and it's connection to the story is more deeper. Also I think the story in the American version is more intact than in this version and it makes more sense.

  • @TomValedro

    oh, so i see

effects make everything scarier, i get it

u probably think shit like paranormal activity is scary too

  • @TomValedro

my mistake, i thought your name was irish

    but anyways, duck american? really?

  • @atomichead777 Yeah, you are as a stupid as a duck. you are so stupid that you don't even deserve insults which make sense.

  • @TomValedro lol your acting all so american even when the only thing american horror now only relies on gore and hot chicks . japanese horror on the other hand really has the scare . but of course youll be the ignorant since you are an 'all american dude' .

  • @rockerganas1993

    you're*

Wtf? The conversation here is which is better the ring or ringu you moron. And the ring clearly is more creepy/ better made.

  • @TomValedro yeah right . ringu has way more scares . hell everything american remade is shit . you ruined one missed call, you ruined the grudge, you ruined godzilla, you ruined nightmare on elm street (sure it's american but the remake sucks same goes to the texas chainsaw massacre and friday the 13th) .

  • @rockerganas1993 No, ringu is shit compared to the ring. This isn't creepy/scary at all, the ''ring video'' doesn't even make sense in this and is just lame, but in the american version it contains signs which then are seen in the movie itself, that makes the videotape have more meaning to the whole story. This version lacks so much compared to the American version how can anyone think this is better is beyond me. They are probably retarded.

  • @TomValedro for starters, although I haven't seen "The Ring", just some parts of it on YouTube... the tape in Ringu actually looks like a third-grade VHS copy and not like fucking DVD-like quality which makes NO sense. And the TV scene in Ringu is definitely better. I don't know about the rest of the movie, but in the TV scene they most definitely dropped the ball by showing her face in the end... :/

  • @vanishy0urself No it doesn't, and the tape has more connections to the ring storyline, so it's just better. and more creepier.

  • @TomValedro "The Ring" definitely created a better atmosphere than "Ringu". It's one of the few instances where the remake, instead of sucking, stands well on its own and gives the original a new flavor. "Ringu" is still a good horror flick, but doesn't keep the tension up nearly as well as "The Ring" does.

  • You gotta hand it to the Japanese, they sure got some excellent dialogue and suspense. Fuck new English horror movies with their special effects.

  • Well we have dvd's these days or just downloading :D thank god

  • Actually in order to really understand this movie, You first need to see Ringu 0. And yeah, Japanese version is way better than the remake

  • If you have lost your capability of seeing what is genuine and interesting, then you might prefer the US version over this. This is more believable. The US version is built in the tradition of their movie heritage to be a fairytale

  • The American version of this movie is obv. better than this.

  • God! Why do people say this is better than the american version? This is so overrated just for being from Japan. I personally (and I mean -personally-), think The Ring is way better than this. And I don't know why the acting here annoys me. It looks so fake.

  • @TheRick4life No shit! It was made in 1998.

  • The guy from Rush Hour 3 i in here.

  • this is probably one of the scariest films of all time, there will be a minority who will say its not, but there will always be a minority such as there is for the exocist and the shining

, but the impact this made when it came out was very similar to the exorcist

  • damn i miss the old times 2000 something sucks now. :( i love my old japanese horror movies.

  • Ringu is so much better .Remake version turned -a beautiful atmosphere movie- into another banal horror movie with all these effects :(

also mannerism -the way ,they talk -"oh look, how evil I m " with their voices or stares. CHEAP -

.i tried to watch The Ring too ..but sorry..Japanese all the way.

  • @kelRapunzel couldn't agree more : ) I feel the same way about the Grudge/ Juon films too, American film makers just don't get suspence anymore

  • the girl in the blue is soooo cute

  • youtube should notify you if you have the top comment... I can cross this off my bucket list! :D

  • @ElenaKat333 yeah !!

  • good film

  • Comment removed

  • I honestly dont know why most people think japanese movies are so scary for? they must all have something in common, like all are afriad of long haired girls? I mean seriously still looks human, in the american version, she looked like a fucking demon. however it's not that bad though.

  • @TheEXpothead the girl in white with long dark hair is a cultural thing. that's what a japanese ghost looks like, thus it's scary to them. their ghosts are very different from ours. as is, the scares of sadako come not from crappy cgi "demon"ness, but from the way the actress walks and moves.

sadako is immensely scarier than samara.

  • @anyankafan k, well yr right about 1 thing though. not everyone gets scared of the same things.

  • I already watched the movie.

Then i finished the novel a few weeks ago and now i´m watching it again :D

  • The Ring is like the same thing only newer and has different characters such as Racheal

  • @TheKaiUchiha It's an American remake...it's suppose to be the same.

  • I just don't understand people who think this is better then THE RING??! The Ring is a better film in every way....EVERY WAY!!!

  • @mgdrummer78 The Ring relies on flashy special-effects and americaness in general.

Ringu is not only the original verison, but it also relies on acting, story and Japanesety (???) in general.

  • @norge29 Kinda, but THE RING's acters were just as good as RINGU and I think the story is great too, but I can't stand the cheesey "Japanesety" of the original! The tension is not brought up long enough to be effective and then when something happens it goes to that generic "negatives" look. I just did not like the original at all. I saw it first and it made me not want to see THE RING, but I'm glad I did!!

  • @mgdrummer78 fair enough, I dissagre, but your good reasoning does not make me horny on discussing it further. I can respect that.

  • there's a massive hole in the plot of this film, don't go near a TV or a phone. It's still scary as fuck though.

  • @5hower5horts in the novel it's explained that it's not actually tvs, it's reflective surfaces (water, glass, etc) that allow her to manifest. For example, a guy in the novel is killed when she appears in the reflective shield on his motorcycle helmet.

  • ringu is overrated, the remake is actually much better.

  • @ihatebobsaget1989

ah let me guess, trailer trash?

  • 2:55 RITZ CRACKERZ!!!!!!!

  • Damn the caller is stubborn! !

  • is there an english version of this

  • @rainbowstargreengirl yes i think there are 2 movies

  • dont 75 per cent of the people who whatch this film commit suicide?!

  • dude im already scared and all thats going on is quiet the dude is right suspence is a power full tthing...... these japs r creapy desterbed peeps dude

  • dude im already scared and all thats going on is quiet the dude is right suspence is a power full tthing

  • oh no... i dont wann watch this... why?!!

  • danm! how long till that phone goes to voice mail?!

  • @ElenaKat333 i KNOW i was thinking that in one missed call and the grudge too! like can't the ghostie just leave a mssg?! ;___;

  • @ElenaKat333 Thats what i was thinking

  • @ElenaKat333 LMAO! You're stupid!!! LMAO! This comment made my day!!

  • @ElenaKat333 Not all phones have answering machines, especially in the 1990s.

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I jumped out of my skin when the phone rang! it was so loud at first i thought it was mine right outside my bedroom door lol

  • Fuck me, this movie is still as scary as hell.

  • I don't know about American vs Japanese, but I do know Sadako is a hell of a lot scarier than Samara

  • @tkhushrenada i think they are both scarry as hell but in different ways lol

  • I wonder what would happen if you weren't near a TV and it was your time to die? Or if it was day time and you were outside?

  • I would have just left the tv aaalllooonnnneee XD

  • Aren't Ringu and the Japanese the ring the same movie?

  • @Hitherto90 The Ring is the American remake of Ringu.

  • if you can find it, can you upload the movie (japanese version) of one missed call. hope youre having a great day. take care.

  • 非常に小さい陰茎

  • actually i found ringu to be less "ambitious", usually i find the original films in japanese to be fine first efforts, but it is heavily refined when it is rebooted in an american studio with suddle improvements that make an overall better film, such as top rate actors and actresses(Naomi Watts and Brian Cox FTW), and a surprisingly and startling impressive score by composers such as Hans Zimmer, although kenji kawai did a pretty good job.

  • I have never ever seen a better "american remake" than the original one and don't think there's going to be one... It's like to paint da vinci mona lisa again and say look mine looks better because it has brighter colors and I was using newer type of brushers. and people always should watch the original one first and I bet after that you never going to watch a remake. but sadly american money can buy everything and in that way to make more people to watch their crappy americanized versions...

  • @NESTEAftw idk if you are being biast towards american film productions or what. I just "personally" think the american remake is better. And you literally went too far when you said "there will never be a better american remake." Although something such as Da Vinci's works can never be perfected, a movie can always be improved to cater towards a different audience.

  • @Hakudo2VisualKei true, but for most standards, the original simplicity of the movie only focused on the story is way more attractive than all the "plus" added in american versions. i think that's what the user meant.

  • @capchio yeah, its a fine first effort, but it wasn't exactly perfect the first time, unlike something like Titanic

  • @NESTEAftw i agree with hakudo the american remake is definitely better, and ringu is way too overrated.

  • I just read the book! Can't wait to see what the movie is going to be like!

  • Awww yeah 'bout to get my freak on! This better be scary!!

  • 我喜歡恐怖電影

  • Im listening to this in my headphones but the thing is that its 1:26 pm

  • @IchigoHinasaki Same, cept it's only 11. I'm freaking out!

  • its not good 2 use google translator it makes no sense when trying 2 convert what they said to english.just sayin

  • wow the girl at 2:21 laugh sounds like sae's laugh from fatal frame cool

  • september 6 my birth date hahaha! XD

  • Watching this at 12:02 am on a Friday night. Ask me how i feel next week. hehehe

  • @bu11com 1 week later... how do ya feel ;) lol

  • One question, if this was made in Japan... Why is Masami wearing a shirt that has American letters on it?

  • @Roserietta

because you can buy american clothing pretty much everywere in the world

  • @Roserietta because they sell shirts that have american letters on it to not only japanese !! Everyone knows it.

  • @Roserietta there latin letters. english uses the latin alphabet.

  • @Roserietta Have you ever bought something in your country that has foreign letters on it? probably. Stupid question

  • @Starkardur Actually, no, not really.

  • for all the people who think it's not as scary as the american version, you gotta take into account the fact that this was 4 years ago

and technology improves quite a lot in a four year time span

  • @iLikeThaBooby .......try 13 years...i don't know where all this 4 shit is coming from

  • @Draculoid i meant to say there's a four year difference between the release of this movie and the american version

    no need to get mad

  • @iLikeThaBooby sorry i got mad :(

  • Not enough to drastically increase the scariness of a film.

  • @iLikeThaBooby The american version came out in 2002 this one came out in 1998. The US version had a 50 million dollar budget - probably way more than this and incredible amount of money for a horror film.

  • @Starkardur the original version is very psychological. the remake is more jump out and scare you!

  • Asians are great. Ahaha. Love them.

  • @gary2975 give me a break.

  • @gary2975 By the way, this movie were so SCARY that my mom feel asleep to it. ;)

  • @gary2975 Really, so you mean that just because of that I don´t like a movie you like I AM the idiot? Would you suddenly think that Stephen Hawking was quite of a fool, only because he didn´t think this movie were fantastic?

I laugh at your way of reasoning. You don´t know anything about me, and therefore can´t judge me when it comes to my mind in that way you just did. Don´t be such an asshole, and don´t pick a fight with a 13-year old swedish girl next time if you can´t win, dick.

  • @gary2975 i give the japanese credit for coming up with the story but the American remake is more haunting and disturbing.

  • Comment removed

  • i don't know why i thought the american ring was scary when i was a kid, the japanese version scared the hell out of me XD

  • when the american version first came out, it started a whole new level of scary, i mean it did say watch on your own risk, no one has ever seen anything like this before at that time, but what a year it was

  • the grudge is better

  • so a lot of idiots were saying the japanese version is better, ive seen both and the american one is a lot scarier.
