@asdfcrow it seems that he "optimized" it for a broader public, since he is obviously aware of the fact that someone who is not used to his style would have trouble to enjoy a 1:10minute piece if played as he does normally.

but i prefer the "original" big sur moon versions as well, they are just way more interesting to listen to.

I like it without too much delay clogging stuff up. When the delay is the same volume as the notes he's playing and there's a huge offset, I think it's kinda hard to follow and there are too many notes to process in your head (lol).

Umm, maybe I'm being retarded, but how does upstroking (assuming that means strumming upwards toward yourself) sound different than downstroking (assuming it means the opposite)?

@psycholian It vibrates the the string more, which gives it more of a 'twang', thus effecting the sound. The same way that playing a chord in a 'choppy' fashion gives a different sound to it being played smoothly.

I can't do it either. I think he does it to make people who don't know he is using delay think that he is playing all of those notes. It makes it kind of look like he is strumming both ways.

Upstrokes have a different sound than downstrokes, so he's probably doing it to get a different sound than what's normally heard...which he definitely accomplished

Yeah, when you use upstrokes you tend to put more emphasis on the pick, getting a more pluckey sound, kinda like a half slapped half picked note. I dont know but i think that might be why...
