  • you know people say buckethead has no soul in has playing sometimes but its beautiful peices like this that totally prove them wrong

  • while i was working in a music shop a guy came in with the gibson buckethead les paul, that guitar is massive! the body is almost as big as a 335!!!

  • Type in Buckethead old school big sur moon, wearing his yellow jacket best version hands down.

  • Not even close to best performance of it. Still good though

  • the les paul was not made for this sort of playing :0

  • One day....one day I'll be abel to play like that or maybe even better. Buckethead is a beast

  • He is on tour right now. Last place I know he went was the House of Blues in New Orleans.

  • amazing song

  • @angelf1re geez, using words like twaddle I know your hands have never been anywhere near a girls tits

  • @Bucketheadhead He probably dosen't even know what tits are, and probably googled it lol

  • his guitar is so sexyyyyyyyyy

  • buckethead should make his own show called "how to play the guitar, LIKE ME!"

  • i saw him on pbs when i was ten in and this it best child hood memory

  • Yeah, all upstrokes too, this guy is a genius, end of debate!!

  • more reverb would've made it better, the way he plays it would fit so well with some echo. i can play pretty good but i can not for the life of me get the back strumming right

  • I would do ANYTHING to be the one, who had eaten whatever was in that KFC bucket!

  • I think i jizzed in my headphones...

  • All upstrokes...he really is the man

  • why is this melody is so short? I wona long version rite now!!

  • THERE showed be more views for this respect bucketheaf

  • this song sounds like from the old video game song

  • lol its indeed a bucket - head :P

  • in fact, buckethead is a mechine of playing guitar

  • Fucken Buket rules!!!!!

  • i really want something from alll the "true" buckethead fans... info on when he's gonna start touring again cause it's going on 3 years since he's been to chicago and im going nuts.. please help me out and give me any genuine info u know thanks guys.

  • @aciddent

Check his website, just google his name and it will come up under Bucketheadland. His tour dates can be found there. How do you think I feel I live in the UK and will likely never see him as he doesn't tour here :(

  • @Bucketheadhead The thing is it is not kept up to date very well.

  • @Bucketheadhead pffffft.... I live in norway. Nobody comes here!

  • @aciddent He will be at Wakarusa in Arkansas June 2nd-5th. Dunno which day.

  • @aciddent he was at the vic on 09/18/09, which is less than two years ago by my math. He took 2010 off due to a significant mystery illness, but most believe he has joint/back/spine problems. He has two festivals on his 2011 calendar as of the last time i looked (a week ago).

  • @aciddent He's playing in Frisco in the 1st od October btw.

  • @aciddent ummm ... he was here in '07, '08, '09, and just like 2 weeks ago ('11) ... outta commision in '10 cause of 'slip disc' breaking into bucketheadland and causing mayhem

  • @joexschmoex85 yea i saw him at the vic theatre july 31st. i got some hd videos posted, the show was just great that year off really helped him get back to 100%

  • @aciddent He's playing here in Boston this week. =P pwnt.

  • @aciddent He came to my town a few years ago, he was with chicken and freinds, No one went, Buckethead is my fav but he is soiling his music. I dont wanna hear anyone sing over buckets music. He deservers a symphony behind him.

  • man i never get tired of this. the best version probably is the acoustic one, but this song will last till the end of time.

i know i'll come back to it even after 5-10years easily.

  • he should play at the superbowl

  • has a classical sound

  • Amazing, but I like the acoustic version more...

  • not the the best version he's played, crappy delay, it's set too fast and too low

  • @asdfcrow

I like it because it sounds more defined, it's a bit different to the original, what's wrong with that?

  • @Bucketheadhead I don't think he ever playes one song the same way twice, He is so amazing that he can mess around with them every time and still make it sounds awesome.

  • @Bucketheadhead I 100% agree with you. Different isnt always good, but in this case it is

  • @Bucketheadhead nothing wrong with it, but you can't hear the song.

  • @Bucketheadhead lol that's exactly whats wrong with it if its not the orig. then it sucks!!!!!!! lol jk like it when ppl cant have something just a bit different i thought it sounded good soo

  • @asdfcrow it seems that he "optimized" it for a broader public, since he is obviously aware of the fact that someone who is not used to his style would have trouble to enjoy a 1:10minute piece if played as he does normally.

but i prefer the "original" big sur moon versions as well, they are just way more interesting to listen to.

  • @asdfcrow you do realize that if the delay is set too fast it sounds unmusical and pure noise? This performance sounds too good to be unmusical

  • @asdfcrow if the delay was set slower and higher the rythym would be off and the notes would run into each other

  • its stuck in mah mind~

  • echo song by paul gilbert, bucketheads teacher

  • @avatarpaintballtop bucketheads teacher was pebber brown :)

  • @BoxenstienMusic What up box! ;)

  • @BoxenstienMusic lol bullshit they both played together and thought eachother it wasn't just pebber brown who thought brian caroll im sure they both learned alot from eachother i wouldn't go so low to say what you just said that

  • @BoxenstienMusic one of em anyways

  • @avatarpaintballtop Pretty sure Buckethead released Big Sur Moon first. And Big Sur Moon sounds better anyways.

  • I like it without too much delay clogging stuff up. When the delay is the same volume as the notes he's playing and there's a huge offset, I think it's kinda hard to follow and there are too many notes to process in your head (lol).

  • I think he forgot to put his delay on? Its hardly noticable...

  • Upstrokes... fuck, hes the greatest player indeed...

  • The best version is the acoustic one in the Virgin Megastore

  • Music is so fast and he looks so peacefull!!!

  • wow i just noticed he only strokes upwards

  • This song relaxes me

  • buckethead is flawless everytime

  • his delay isnt loud enough

  • Great Song...

BuckeThead The Best Guitarrist.... 5stars !!!!

  • all up strokes with his picking hand...

  • is it me oh he up-picks most of the end big / most fo the song? ;o

  • crap! his delay is not timed right! love that frickin' song.

  • This song is awsome but Buckethead does not have his dealy

  • AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Upstroking = picking harder > More sound with palm mute?

  • well

this song is a fuckin epic.

  • Not delay but the other sound that makes the delay with the music more orgasmic

  • What effect is he usin?

  • delay

  • i Wounder if Bucket Head Likes Zelda?

  • with upstrokes he pulls the strings even harder additional to play them palm muted it strengthens the delay

i found that somewhere , i don´t know it myself i haven´t got an delay pedal

  • Umm, maybe I'm being retarded, but how does upstroking (assuming that means strumming upwards toward yourself) sound different than downstroking (assuming it means the opposite)?

  • @psycholian It vibrates the the string more, which gives it more of a 'twang', thus effecting the sound. The same way that playing a chord in a 'choppy' fashion gives a different sound to it being played smoothly.

  • playing it with upstrokes strengthens the delay and the song consists of delay..

  • Yeah, but how? Why? What physical processes are happening that would make for a longer delay? I'm a nerd, I'm sorry.

  • It doesn't, it just gives his hand better rhythmic control.

  • A twangier tone by upstroking.... now that's something I never thought of. LOL sounds so much easier saying it. Playing is another harsh story lol.

  • Como se llama este concierto

diganme que quiero descargarmelo, se puede ver que fue increible

    ----------------------------------------------

What is the name of the concert ?

    I want to download

    Buckethead is amazing

  • live at PBS SOUNDSTAGE

  • I can play this song..but not in ALL UPSTROKES. I dont see how he does it..or why he does it.

  • I can't do it either. I think he does it to make people who don't know he is using delay think that he is playing all of those notes. It makes it kind of look like he is strumming both ways.

  • Upstrokes have a different sound than downstrokes, so he's probably doing it to get a different sound than what's normally heard...which he definitely accomplished

  • Yeah, when you use upstrokes you tend to put more emphasis on the pick, getting a more pluckey sound, kinda like a half slapped half picked note. I dont know but i think that might be why...

  • or maybe he is boring to play it downstrokes.... play it upstrokes is much mooore harder. ofc no for buckethead :P

  • he does it because he can and no offense but i doubt anyone gives a shit what you can play u UPSTROKE!

  • chill out bro just messing with ya and by the way how can you tell my musical talent or knowledge by a simple youtube message? and sorry where i live we cut down all the aids trees

  • sorry..

  • great performance of a great song

  • Real nice delay on that diddy----awesome job

  • wait, he was on soundstage? HOW DID I MISS THIS?!?!

  • AWESOME buckethead your the best!!

  • I think it needs more reverb...

But who am I to tell what Buckethead should do? :)

  • its a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay Pedal set to 300 and yes some reverb

  • only a DD-3?

wow, id have thought he'd use a DD-7 or something alot more expensive than a DD-3 :P

  • yeah but apparently the DD-3 is coooler lol

  • eh, dd-7 has all the features of the dd-3, and then alot more. reverse delay, loops, etc.

  • meh kinda much lol

  • @dmcRules4life reverb actually decreases the delayed note's volume; more sustain with delay, less noticeable delay effect.

  • @dmcRules4life not reverb, more volume on his delay ;)

  • thats real nice

  • The echo effect doesn't sound too strong....on the plus side, I can sort of hear how he plays it, so now I can try it :)

  • that was cool
