@Joshb81959 Yeah, the halogen lamps can get pretty warm. In the future you may want to check out some cool fluorescent bulbs, they keep a much cooler temperature.
@powerdude345 You should be able to iron them out in low heat, or throw the screen into the dryer on low heat for a few minutes. That should help. Also using tape or clamps to keep the screen tight is another good trick to avoid wrinkles.
@tubetape ALRIGHT THEY'RE GONE! though i had to make another video... and i even got the light i needed HOORAY by the way i subbed your markapsolon channel and this one too THANKS AGAIN ( BIG HELP I'M NEW TO THIS. )
The problem with halogens are they don't prduce a good colour balance. The new low energy consumption flourescents are balanced to natural light and produce way less heat. He must be sweating pretty quickly with that much wattage in front of him. The advantage of the flourescents is that you're not having to run extension cords all over the place to avoid tripping breakers if you're filming in a house as the power consumption is way less. The prices for the units have been coming down too.
Great video! I was wondering...I recently set up a 9 by 15 ft. backdrop, so that it extends out about 7 feet on the floor. I like having a large floor part, because then I can film an entire person infront of the green screen, including their feet and below. Do you have any advice on how to properly light the floor section? I'm guessing it will have alot of shadows and uneven lighting. Thanks
I purchased a green muslin from TubeTape as well as the work lights. I don't see how he is getting a decent green screen with how close he has the lights positioned. My 2000 watts produce hot spots that are impossible to key out and mine are further away from the muslin than his. These work lights do not diffuse light very well at all. Mark, do you have any advice? I would greatly appreciate a phot of your lit set so I can see where everything is positioned.
Only turn on one head or bounce the light of a white card or wall. Also angle the lights so they point at a 45 degree angle. Bouncing off the ceiling is also an option.
Hi great tutorial. Just wondering if you could tell us how you would diffuse the work lights. In your video the light from the work lights have the same diffusion as the softbox? I have these light and dont know how to diffuse them? could you tell us how?
Great advice! Im gonna have to go pick me up some of those lights.
