  • I can't decide which one to get

    Yamaha PSR-E333 270$

    Thomann DP-25 420$

    Thomann SP-5100 520$

    Sorry for double post...

  • @Ormtast

Hi there, thanks for the message. Toby used a suitcase Rhodes on all the albums from Emergency up to his departure after Synkronised. So if you want to nail that sound, that's what you need. Having said that, you're unlikely to find a good one for $500 - so either save up, or go and try the keyboards you've mentioned in person. They'll all have an electric piano sound, and it's probably best you listen to it in person as you play, before you buy :D I hope that helps!

  • @tomogradymusic Thanks for the answer, btw I found that there are programs that emulate rhodes sound, one of them is called scarbee mark1 which costs like 100eur. So as I understand I can get thomann dp-25 or sp-5100, connect it to my pc via usb port, and have emulated rhodes sound ?

  • @Ormtast get neo-soul keys for kontakt

  • @Ormtast

Hi there, I would probably investigate destituteillusion's recommendation - I'm out of touch with emulators because I haven't had to use them (although I have heard the scarbee). Good luck!

  • @tomogradymusic Just to let you know Toby was still in the band til 2002.

  • Hey everyone, I am thinking to learn to play keyboards - do you need Rhodes piano to have similar sound as Toby had in early Jamiroquai albums, or there is something cheaper in 200-500$ range ?

    Thanks

  • Classic track from a Classic Album. Great playing!!!!

  • @BLKSEA1

Thanks very much - Happy New Year!

  • @destituteillusion

  • Absolutely brilliant! you have the potential of being the next Toby. Keep up the great work.

  • @ShadowRave

Hey, thanks for the compliment! I'll keep working on my playing... :D

  • That is excellent bro.... Where are you based? Im in London, and think you may be interested in a project im starting this year. Ok bye

  • @lokiop345

Hi mate, thanks for the comment! I'm in Cambridge - takes me no time to get to London, I've done quite a few gigs down there before - Cargo, Hackney Empire, Big Chill House, Jazz Cafe etc...what's your project gonna be?

    Cheers,

    Tom
