I just got a 94 TBird 4.6. Whats this i hear about an airbox silencer? Do I have one, wheres it located and how hard is it to take off?

yeah, im pretty sure the 94-95 4.6l's have one...its right under the airbox..(where your air filter is located). pull your filter out..you shouldn't be able to see the ground if you have the silencer in..you should see an oval hole in the bottom of your airbox.. the bolts at the bottom of the airbox hold on both the airbox and the silencer.. so undo those bolts and try and wedge the silencer out and use the bolts to tighten the airbox back on.and vhwala. your car will sound way better and deeper

all that i did was swap the stock mufflers for dynomas thrush welded mufflers. part number 17655. got them at advance auto parts. $39 each. good deal i'd say.

my advice is to trash the stock cats, ether for an o/r set up or a dual higflow set up. sounds soooooo much better than the stock p.o.s cats.

oh im sure it will have to sound a lot better with no cats and no third cat. my friend has a 2002 gas f250 with the 5.4l triton and has magnaflow exhaust... thats what my car sounds like with no mufflers

i actually took these mufflers off and am running open pipes now. i get 3 more miles per gallon with no mufflers. so i will slip them on again sometime when i got time and do a better sound video. im getting 28 mpg now and thats goosin the gas a lot

these mufflers really had an annoying low rpm drone. like 1000-1500rpms. it sounded like a dam ricer. but when i hit the gas and rev it up to 4000-4500...LOOK OUT. these mufflers sound mean otherwise. closest you can get to flowmaster 40's

They do that on my v6 Mustang too..but it sounds SICK on a v6! Like something coming to "rape" you! LOL

i just put up two new videos. the thrush mufflers sound the same as my car with straight pipes....the mufflers are just quieter and it still has the two chamber sound
