@gt1118 it is a race gas kit with a 2860 i think that is considered a stage 1. the sled is a 08 162 m8 and as of this video i was running 6-7 pounds on straight 91. i have run this sled to 17 pounds on 110. and this season i wanted to see how much this sled would take on straight 91. i ran it most of the year at 10 pounds (around 1000 miles) on 91 from 8- 11k feet with no issues and i believe it runs stronger on pump gas at higher elevations.
depends on how much boost. in this vid it was set up to run pump gas so the boost is set low. about 210 hp in this vid. and 270 with the boost at 14 pounds on race gas.
About half way up the ravine did you notice the hole? I put that there on my first attempt. I ran into you guys up higher that day when you lost a member of your group on an M8.
yes i do know chris and have had the pleasure of ridding with him several times. his m8s he runs on race gas at 12-14 lbs of boost to make the 275 hp. this sled a run on pump gas (91 oct) and 6 lps of boost. VOHK in co. builds all of chris's sleds and puts them on a serious diet with a lot of bdx titanium bolts and such. and chris burandt is a snowmobile god!!
i think the m8 is the best all around mountain sled out there. and on boost the are untouchable. they have proven to be the most durable even on boost. the only problem i have had with mine this year was not a arctic cat problem but with aftermarket part. this sled truely is a pull the rope and go sled. no expensive race gas and it still hase the stock oil injection.
i have been involved with two arctic cat dealers and for a while he was our sales rep. he is a genuine guy that really loves our sport and i im honored to know him.
Okay so you meet him at a Cat dealership, do you ride with him or just talked to him at the Cat dealership?
And what do you do at the Cat dealership (what do you mean by sales rep)?
Chris is a great rider and i really look up to him and he is seems like a real serious person and is what i have seen (the videos and his site) he sounds down to earth.
he worked for cat at the time and was the sales rep. for our region. we would ride a few times a year sometimes with the next year prototype sleds or just free ride. i was the parts and service manager.
So your guys could test out the new sleds before they came out on the market, that would be cool!
I bet Chris is a crazy rider and would be a great one to film and talk to. But does Chris do a lot of trail riding or pretty much all mountain riding?
i like the trail ride of the float skid but some will say they dont. the pre 08 sleds where not very good on the trail but that never bothered me. im sur chris has ridden everywhere on the world so i would bet he has even done some trail riding.
Question: What stage turbo is this from Cutler's, how many pounds of boost you running and what year is your M8?
