  • rest in piece jimi, your music and your meaning lives on.

  • good video, quite naturally, I think so.

  • Jimi, you should have stuck around, it's too bad, you were burning on rocket fuel, too far too fast? You had style, more than all the dudes that followed but you burned out too fast.

  • He is so chilled. Know's what he wants, knew his music, knew his meaning... He knew it.

Lying on a bed wearing his Jimi clothes and proclaiming the Electric Church. That is true Jimi. I love it.

  • Jimi probably spinnng in his grave nowaday considering his comment on tinfoil music!

  • CBC sucks ass

  • Greatest fucking electric guitarist to ever live

  • great!

  • sounds a bit like obama

  • that was deep man

  • What an inspiration

  • Rock On Jimmi

    Peace

  • excellent *****

  • HEY IZABELLA!

  • the coolest motherfucker that ever lived..

  • what the fuck is the point of your comment? i said jimi hendrix was a cool guy. is it really necessary to correct me on that? focus your energy on something else jesus christ.

  • "Watch your lady!"

  • "Manufactured tinfoil music."

The same can def be said about modern day rap.

  • and any other genre of music. don't relegate it to rap only

  • To be honest I haven't really been immersed in contemporary rock, jazz, or blues so I can't say that those genres are tinfoil music as well. It could be true for those genres as well, but it'd be unfair to say of those genres I don't know of. I've been a Hip Hop fan most all my life, & I can def say the shit sucks now.

  • just on the radio. but when's that device ever been of any use as jimi points out from over 40 years ago

  • Good point there. But even the conscious rappers are a little upsetting, because they're scared to challenge the misogyny, homophobia, and degradation presented by gangsta rappers. Someone needs to take a stand against that garbage. I'm a fan of rap, but moreso early to mid 90s rap.

  • that's when misogyny and gangstadom was at an all time blatant high! sure you had a lot of classics but there haven't been anything as bad as "bitches ain't shit" and "cop killer"

ghostface misogny was all over the 90's. wildflower.

its not really the job of talented rappers to battle the untalented. just to provide a good alternative to negative music. and it's not like you hate it all. im sure there's some music you like out there thats nasty.

  • Def not at its high! Wu-Tang had a lot of positive records, Nas did, Gang Starr was, Jeru the Damaja, Fugees, and the list goes on. Ur right about Ghostface , but if u listen to "wildflower" he's talking about a female who cheated on him. So that's not a good case to make. And rappers may not be required to, but they should now more than ever considering its the untalented wack rappers who are undeservingly receiving more airtime & publicity than the talented cats who deserve it.

  • Wow im the 44,444th viewer of this video.

Yeah the Jimmy's stoned but he has every right to be - he will die young, he will become immortal for all time as a 1960's icon.

  • what happened over the millenium? whatg happened to artists passed 1999? theres no more soul, no more emotion, no more things that are human and realistic? fucking erappers. i loved Hip Hop but goddammit, fucking rappers are on the total opposite of art now... it's Donald Trump music now. I can not relate. Im not rich, and money isnt the answet to everything... Im drunk. Sorry if Im incoherrant.

  • Henry Ford made billions off of manufacturing the same thing over and over.... Preston Tucker died nameless and almost broke.

  • The music industry chooses music that sells and makes the corporations big bucks (if you wanna call it music (some anyway)). Industry has no interest in talented, beautiful people like Jimi anymore.

  • @Key2daUnderground: Artists take time to be appreciated.

  • @Key2daUnderground Indie rock my friend, Indie Rock

  • @Key2daUnderground That my friend, was beautiful :)

  • @Key2daUnderground you are not incoherent at all man

  • @Key2daUnderground I think a lot of creative and introspective people just want nothing to do with the music industry right now-- everything's gone underground.

  • @Key2daUnderground Dubstep, my friend.

  • @Key2daUnderground this is the most uneducated and stupid thing ive ever heard, and i hear it too often. there is amazing music being made right now, this generation is like every other generation, youve got the real music and whatever you call the other stuff, its unfortunate that the other stuff stuff gets more publicity but its no ones fault but your own if you chose not to look for the real stuff.

  • @Key2daUnderground lol theres some!

  • "Everything on there means something, it wasn't just slopped together"

"Anybody can protest... what we're saying is not protesting but giving solutions... instead of going to the negative scene."

This guy is far smarter than people give him credit for. He was way above the acid drenched caricature people have created.

To all the people who have nothing better to say than to comment on how stoned he looks, FUCK YOU!

Next two LPs are solutions... what a shame he died before then, interesting

  • "Yeah, and that´s what I´m gonna do now" :-)

  • Jimi is my religion

  • Jimi is awesome, I wish I could have met him.

  • What was so impressive to me about that LP was how they used the Record Plant as an instrument, All the over over-dubs, Gary Kelgran over-drove the entire board to get the heavy compression wah pedal on Rainy Day. It really was a masterpiece, entire album was simply perfect, and on a technical level it 's had no rival, so far. Anyone who has ever mixed a multi-track recording should listnen to this record with headphones.

  • he's chillin look @ him a TRUE ICON...

  • hes chilling hard body

  • c'mon he was off his tits, and thats fine, because nearly everything he did was amazing.

  • I don't know if Jimi was stoned in this interview as some people suggest. Keep in mind Hendrix had a very gruelling tour schedule. Top that off with heavy partying on the road and anyone would be wore out. I think he was comfortable on the bed and just plain tired an wore out from the heavy touring and partying on the road.

  • You know, that partying always included some acid or pot, probably both on most occasians.

  • I agree with you on the partying including some acid or pot on most occasions. I think in this interview though that he could have been either tired or possibly buzzed but not necessarily buzzed. I may be nitpicking but when trying to pick the head of a genius I like to TRY and know where his mind is.

  • Well, he might not have been high, yeah. He was an awesome guy, wish I could have met him.

  • Quite naturally.

  • Super

    5*

    all the best

    Kean

  • you know

  • P.S. They shouldve taken Jimi's words more seriously. Up to the seriousness as John Lennon's words.

  • 1:45 haha, he'll swoop on your girl.

  • "quite naturally" - ha

  • Wow that`s awesome, he talks about going in a more positive light and that`s exactly what he did "With the power of soul, anything is possible"

  • This is over 40 years ago, can you believe it? Forty freggin` years!

  • Seems like yesterday

  • And we`ve learned nothing....

He`ll come back to find the stars misplaced, and the smell of a world, that is burned.

We gotta learn instead of burn, hear what I say!!

  • that's the most intelligent interview I ever heard done with Jimi

  • have you seen the rainbow bridge interview?

  • Yeah he was all stoned and talking weird on that one if I remember correctly or I was stoned and he was fine...lol

  • why doesnt the black community embrace the legacy of jimi hendrix instead of tupac's ? cause its full of fuck ups . hendrix rules

  • hahaaa ! i can agree somewhat. dunno bout the fuckups part though lol!

  • how much different is it exactly? it looks like Jimi was on something this whole interview...

  • i was talking about skill and musical prowess ... Hendrix was a guitar virtuoso , while tupac was mediocre and all about talk...the current hiphop stars worse shitkickers still

  • oh! nevermind then. i agree with you 200% :)

  • Tupac was action and poetic power.

  • I suppose the Ku Klux legacy is full of outstanding, respectable gentlemen?! I agree the Black community could & should embrace Hendrix more, but he definitely is appreciated.

  • hey fuck you man

  • at 1.36 did he say "we Colombians" ?? lol i think he did... he refer to music as electric church music

  • It does sound like we Colombians, but he said " We call our music... "

  • He said "we call our music"...

  • "...it's like what we're doing"...

  • Too bad Jimi didn't get to do more lps after electric ladyland, but what a way to end it on.

  • wtf

  • Jimi is so groovy.

I listen to his music every day to.

He inspired me, like so many others to play the guitar and get into music.

    Peace.

  • It's seems like moroccan room

  • Its actually Kathys flat. (His girlfriend at the time) in London.

  • "Quite Naturally..."

Jimi Hendrix is my man, listen to him everyday. Long Live Jimi Hendrix!

  • QUALITY THIS

  • My Man is high as Fuuuuuck!!

    RIP

  • How the fuck is he YOUR man? Fucking twat.

  • "It's not no game that we're playing"

    Dangerous cat.

  • This is awesome, this is the first interview with him I've ever seen.

  • I've never seen anyone with such long... fingers

  • check the famous portrait photo of Robert Johnson, with guitar and cigarette..

    Jimi's are stumps in comparison.

well, not quite, but.... go see,

  • People who knew Robert Johnson have said that the man in the photo was not him.

  • "I heard..."

as soon as someone says that, I know they're an idiot.

If you don't have first hand knowledge, don't help spread rumors (lies).

  • dude- five star rating.... #69!!!

    whoooo hooooooooo!

  • The rumor you have heard is very much false. Hendrix played guitar and bass on all his records Though there were other musicians involved in the projects, there were no other guitarists.

  • I also heard that man never actually landed on the moon ,-)

  • You heard wrong.

  • u dont know shit

  • you people really need to learn to take a joke.

  • very interesting, he seems very determined here with ideas for future musical statements. Something magical would've probably happened had he not passed away like he did

  • jeah jimi.... you ruled...

  • Thank God for CBCtv. There's actually something good on the web now!

  • i love the way he talks. hes so smooth. 'quite naturally..'

  • Yah a lot of great musicans died with 27 xD

But no...Jimi can't be forgoten...He'll always stay in the world of music...

    JIMI HENDRIX ROCKS!

  • he was such a great musician. i think people forget that. his phrasing and improvisation skills are brilliant. tis a shame he died so young

  • ....who forgets that hendrix was a great musician? no one I know

  • the youth forget. The good stuff gets drowned out by the popular rubbish and it's media frenzy!

Rock is no longer cool to play at the "in" party

  • yeah true, you're making me feel old! lol

  • There are some young people out there that are touched by Hendrix. I love Hendrix like a brother and I've only been around for 20 cycles around the sun.

  • I agree with psychoactivepaper (long ass name!) . I don't know what age bracket falls into the youth category, but Im in my early twenties and I love and appreciate his musical talents, and his contributions to music as a whole.

  • madblock; the interview goes like this:

Jimi talks about how younger teenage kids have more sophisticated taste in music than people think. This might be because of "underground radio"

Says he's not affected by other musicians imitating his sound.

Jimi: "everything on the Electric Ladyland album means something. It's not no game that we're playing"

To express all he wanted on Electric Lady "would have taken 2 more albums".

He says his music offers solutions instead of just protesting

  • I'm french...and I don't understand ='(

  • He's just so quintessentially cooool.

  • I love the Retrobite, too.

  • nice

  • awesome, dudeeee....

  • I only wish the clip were in colour :-) I'd imagine his shirt, bedspread, and that great rug on the wall must have been pretty groovy, man. I concur, awesome, thanks for the great Retrobite!

  • I have a photo of the room in colour, he (actually Kathy has as its her room) has these weird green frog cusions! Oh and definatly groovy!

  • awesome, epic.
