Fred Herch can improvise, but at best he can play with a beat, but he is no swinging jazz player. But rather a classical pianist that can improvise. When I think of swing pianists, I think of, Bud Powell, Wynton Kelly, Hank Jones, Tommy Flannigan, Oscar Pererson, and manny others, therefore how is it possible to even think of Fred Hersch as a swimming pianist Red Garland
