  • Get the UFO Drag Star pipes for this bike it is the best "NASTY PISSED OFF GROWLING" sound! & also Performance!

  • i want a vmax

  • Remove that sissy bar immediately!

  • @malangope right about that

  • 5:40 WOW!!

    LP

  • X-Pipe win

  • A VMax and an '85 ZL900 will pass just about anything on the road, except for a gas station.

  • That VMax is just a badass impressive bike! I can't wait to own one. I don't care if it corners like a frat boy bike, it will still out drag just about anything out there. Don't forget that stocky muscle bike look. :-) Just out of curiosity what kind of range do you get on a tank of fuel? I heard it was about 100miles. My ZL900 is like that too where I wish it held about a gallon more.

  • This sounds ok, the ufo full exhaust on this bike sounds the best out of any bike i've ever heard, i've owned cbr600, gixxer 750, yamaha r1, boulevard1800 full exhaust, and a harley street glide with reinharts.

  • Wow, a pretty badass sounding bike, stock or not.

  • Looks like the same pipe, but with some baffles taken out. Does sound better , but how about performance, any difference/ mileage?

  • Yeah...I figured you'd need a pipe...200 horses just aint enough.

  • But does it make any power?

  • That beast sounds awesome no matter what has been done to it. By far the most detailed exhaust comparo vid I've seen. At times the X-Pipe bike comes off sounding too open and times the stock bike sounds too choked or muffled. But if I had a Max, I could definitely see myself paying for the pipe. That last part though the mic is just a little too close, but man if you don't get the idea by then... :)

  • I prefer X pipe

  • I have a 87 max with a 4 into 1 hole shot header that sounds just like the x pipe. but its about 60 lbs lighter than the stock pipe that was on it.. I already know that this videos audio doesnt do that pipe justice.. sounds awesome all the same..

  • The X pipe deffinitely sounds better ..unless it is considerably lighter... I wouldnt think its $800 better ..but hell, if you got 18k to spend on a bike, whats another 800 ..

  • the x pipe has tht ducati hypermotard sound to me sounds nice indeed

  • Sounds much better, but $800 is a lot for an x-pipe. Akrapovič makes a nice exhaust.

  • @cdwilliams81 Where are you guys getting that $800 thingy from? The original X-Pipe sold for $275 or so. This is by far the BEST deal out there. The video sound does not do it any justice. I too run the Akrapovic exhaust and love it, but don't forget its in the range of 2 grand.

  • @cdwilliams81 a v-max is a lot of money...

  • Xpipe makes it sound like a Harley to me. I like it.

  • Sounds cool...I'm dealing on a 2009 max and will x-pipe it when they see the price my way...LOL

  • Great Video

I just bought a 2010 vmax last week

I would like to take my grandson on it and I see one of your VMAXs has a back rest for a rider

Did you get that from OEM Yamaha?

    Thanks Terry!

  • doesn't make any sense. still sounds like stock. $800 you must be out of your mind buddy.

  • VMAX is the grteatest bike EVER made

  • Nice video keep up the good work.

  • you can try and blame peoples speakers all you like, I don't have a subwoofer or anything on my PC. And there are a LOT of vmax pipe vids on youtube that sound way way better than this. You're right, compared to other pipes like the Laser, this sounds really tinny.

  • Stock... Definitely.

  • I like Stock better.

  • Take the bloody sissy bar off!

  • This one time at band camp, ..... The Teacher sodomised all the students.

  • @arty7777 good idea :>)

  • @arty7777 bitches aint shit ;)

    na ur right looks crappy

  • NO need to atract more donut guys they always looking for bikes like we owind them somthig.

  • You're right..........the modified bike sounds much better (deeper and with a choppier idle) with some good bass speakers for this video. Great comparison. Stock sounds good but the modified bike just sounds nasty like a V-max should!!!

  • Hey FxStein, not sure if your bike is the one with the X-Pipe on it in the video or not, but do you happen to know what kinda license tag cover that is on the X-Pipe Bike. I really like the cleaned up look and the LED Blinkers.

  • it sounds rly better wit X pipe :)

more tough.. more like the way it should sound..

btw by removing the baffles...exept better sound do u get slightly more hp?

this bike is the king of the road !

  • Sorry, but for the small (and it is only small) difference in the noises produced from stock - x pipe, I can't see how $800 is anywhere near justifiable!

  • @Son7Sam666 FYI cameras are notoriously bad in capturing sound. You have to hear it in person. There is a huge difference.

Not sure where you got that 800 buck number from but I believe its mor like 300. Its by far the cheapest option out there, works well make great power and sound. If you ever get a chance to check one out in person, I would highly recommend you do that.

  • I just got my X-Pipe from Mike 2 weeks ago. Cost bout $415 shipped to my door.

  • @Son7Sam666 Then don't buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i own a Vmax 09 and its on an Xpipe it sounds like a grizzly bear on a bad mood hahahahah anyway both sounds good to me stock, xpipes or any types of slip ons, it's still a vmax to me. enjoy riding

  • Both sounds great. The main diffrence is the $800.00 bucks or so youll spend on a little bit better sounding bike.

  • Just FYI, for everyone that's complaining about the fuel capacity on both the new '09, and the old 1st gens... They hold 4.0 gallons. Both old and new. Check the specs. 3.0 gallons primary, and 1.0 gallon reserve. Unless you have a supplemental tank installed, it's 4.0 gallons.

  • I think original one is better

  • Is it me or do both exhausts sound the same? They are way too mellow. The 4into1 systems give the best performance on a VMAX IMHO.

  • Yes, it is you

  • Nah... It's not me... The UFO Afterburner system with no baffles sounds the way a MAX is suppose to sound!

  • My thought's exactly

  • Sure, the X-Pipe sounds better, but not such that I could see myself spending 18K for the VMAX and then another $500 just to make it growl a little more.

  • that's what I was thinking. stock is good enough.

  • ufo system sound alot better but still a really nice sound compared to stock

  • Why would anyone buy any other motorcycle? Both sound great!

The meanest buyable bike on the planet to date.

  • stock is much better

  • If Satan rode a motorcycle this would be it!

  • nice video, great quality

  • V MAX the best bike of the world

  • Nice bike. I would buy one if it had a larger gas tank. A 5 gallon tank would be about right.

    3.9 is way too small.

    Nice video. Great sounds.

  • I'm with you all the way! I'm holding off getting a 09 or later vmax because the stock tank is way too small! I own a 85 & 88 with 5.5gallon tanks under the seat and I love filling up every 170miles! My 88 also has a 1.8 gallon tank over top of the airbox cover for added range. The new vmax still has a ways to go before I'll purchase one. The sad part is that a vmax with a 1500cc tourmaster kit I bet will run circles around the 09 max!

  • Comment removed

  • make it larger.

  • the first step to a better sounding Max!

  • no money.only dream.for me

  • that is one badass bike!!!

  • I am ready for MY VMAX NOW

  • Sounds great!!
