The explanation is wrong. It's not that Char refused to let Amuro pilot Gundam MK-II. Beltorchika wanted him to pilot Gundam, which annoyed Kamille. As for Amuro, he didn't care about piloting Gundam, but just A mobile suit. He probably thought Kamille should continue piloting the Gundam.

Even though it's not a Gundam I just love the Rick Dias, it's a cool mobile suit that got a good amount of screen time. I wish someone would imitate it's design in a future Gundam series.

Well when most people talk about Gundam they usually will talk about which Gundam they like the most rather than the grunt mobile suits. Hizacks and Nemos are also favorites as are Zakus and Doms.

Uh... The Universal Century storyline DID go further. Sometime after CCA, F91 was made, taking place in the UC 120's, and there was Victory Gundam, which took place in the early UC 150's, and is the last UC story in chronological order (8th MS team was made later, around the same time as Gundam SEED.)

Also, SEED was pretty much an inevitability due to a drought of Gundam shows and a focus on new fans. It was SEED's many flaws that attracted a bunch of fans that saw UC as "old". This attitude towards the other shows is a sin that the fans have, not SEED itself (though SEED does suffer several problems).

@charlie1321 As much as I loved Amuro I'm glad I didn't get cheaped out with having Amuro the only one alive after the last Char battle. Remember that it's war.. there are no Hollywood endings. I felt sad for Amuro cause the only place he felt like he belonged after being with WB was the battlefield. He could only fight for so long..

There may be the slightest chance that he's alive since he's officially listed as MIA, but Amuro's getting old. They can only do so much with him.

Amuro is featured in all the official tributes - he stars in more Gundam games than any other char, he is featured in the most side-stories/novels/audio dramas. There are more RX-78 models than any other Gundam.
