The ampliphier once belonged to Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin. There were two plates that they had purchased together. 1 was missing. It is so strange that items decades olds are so readily available. Alanis Morrisette also used vintage shirts and a vintage suit belonging to Bobby Darin when he did the Elvis thing in the movies and on stage. Bobby, Sandi and Jerry Lee's band compsed the Elvis songs together. Lee Ann Rimes in a vid holds up a Sandra Dee licence plate compliments of the composer.
I love this! How ture and what a perfect expression of how love can be as it surely is never a bed of roses all the time no matter how deep one feels love toward another.
However love does cover all; the good and the bad and all that is inbetween.
Wonderful.... takes me back 30 years or so when I met my husband and we would listen over and over to this. I was searching for the album on CD but no luck. The whole album was great.
I prefer this version over others. It is so heart felt. Ms. Warnes just lifts me up. I too remember buying this album, my cool top floor appartment in an old bungalow as I started teaching and my old Sony stereo. Still have the speakers. Ahhhhh, my late 20's.
Jennifer unfortunately never got decision rights for this album so has had no say on getting this out on CD. Hopefully one day. I saw her in concert in Portland Oregon last May. She still gets standing O's.
One of my all time favourites. This song was constantly on the radio ca. 1977 -- soothed many a lonely night in the dormitory in a foreign land. This whole album is just incredible. From the hyme-like 'oh god of loveliness' to the sublime 'love hurts' and 'I'm dreaming', it is incomparable, her voice and projected imagery!
I hear you singing along towards the end! I have had this album for years and know every word. Can't help but sing along. I actually have about 3 copies because I wore the first one I had out! I e-mailed Jennifer's assistant directly in regards to asking if this lp would ever be on cd and it turns out Jennifer doesn't own the rights to it, so she can't issue a release of it herself. Shame, I love every single song and everything about this record. Wish they still made albums like this.
I don't want to hear any blah blah blah about it. A great album. Have it in my closet right now. Unfortunately, my current setup isn't condusive to records (in the old time 33 sense). Trying to fix that though. Talking about 33 made me think about 45. I must say I loved Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way". What can I say, I still love disco. Believe it or not, I bought her record at JC Penneys. I bet if I went downstairs I could still find it, along with Box Scaggs Lido Shuffle.
The Jenn and Naz versions are BOTH excellent in different ways. The same song sung differently appeals to very different people, but carries exactly the same message. And that is ART.

Personally, I think JW OWNS this song. Yes, I know about Gram, Emmylou, the Everly Bros. and Roy Orbison.
So there!

Even if the good work is different in an expression method, I ask the heart of a person hearing both
