That's the point of the song. You know how in the Giver, everything was the same, but that main boy wanted to be different? It's like that. everyone in that town is content to live without color, without difference. But those boys want to show the world color. and then the freaky people come to destroy it, showing how in our society, differences aren't celebrated but condemed.

I dont agree with the message. Christiania is a place based on the idea that you dont have to be a part of the outside community and dont have to follow the laws of the country. But they still want to profit on the benefits of the outside community.

Yeah, when I went to Christiana I LOVED it. I was a little sceptical at first, but after walking around for no more than 5 minutes I felt completely safe and everything. The people were very friendly, it's definitely somewhere I would reccomend going.

I've been in christiania in Denmark aswell. many people think its horrible, because of the drugs and all, but really is an experience to've been there. And the grafitti sure has its own charm, why should that be removed, it definitely is an awsome genre within art.

I think that its ok that people have differnt opionion about how cities should look, but we should all agree to have a diverse comunity. its a small part of copnhagen, for an probably equally small part of the population. furthrmore the particular part of the city attracts a many typs of people. Violence n heavy drugs are also kept away by the so "criminals". legalise the place if the argumnt is that we shoudnt finanse criminal, because the city has charme an is a place and symbol of diversity.

There is still a lot of weed smokers there, but after politicians decided to destroy every alternative part of the country, there haven't been as many as before.

You should visit some day. Christiania is still a fantastic place to be.

The town the song is about is a danish free town independent community called "Freetown Christiania". Alot of the danes (and me) love the peaceful town, and maybe sometimes buy a joint or two. Nice people with peaceful minds there..

I know, for instance, Metallica started out great and crazy, young, but got slower and more heavy metal.
