It's actually very common for singers to learn songs in a language they don't understand. It's actually easier to learn the sounds and enunciate them properly if you don't know the word.

Listening to this "Official" audio track many times over the last week, I got a better idea of just how tough the lyrics of this song are.

Not that I understand the lyrics, but I could really hear how intricate the pronunciations of some of the words and phrases are.

I gave me a whole new appreciation of, and level of respect for, the hard work it must have taken for Jackie to learn this song to perform it so well.

Hey, not too shabby. This is an ambitious song and it would be easy to make a complete mess out of it. She doesn't try to knock the walls down and overextend herself trying to be a "diva", she focuses on pitch and navigates some fairly complex melodic lines well. Her voice will gain power as she gets older.

This was a fun competition to attend, because it was fun to hear such a hush fall over a chatty audience as soon as Jackie started to sing. They were mesmerized!
