  • lol just wondering why is helen wearing make up ?

  • Hector is the Man!

  • 1:32 haha

  • That wasn't a battle between Hector and Achilles it was between Hector and Patroclus.

  • i could not accept this scene

  • Phukk that shlt. They should have killed him with their archers. People and their "honour"...

  • oh, no. I loved hector.

  • lol wasn't expecting it to be in a different language freaked me out lol

  • 1:07 sweetest move by achilles! lifts his leg up to dodge sword!! :D

  • @kg062007 yes, yes he does

  • that's why guns were invented :))

  • @ 1:48 does he say time to masturbate?

  • And all because of Paris' severe douchebaggery.

  • @merzer131 rofl

  • 0:50 wtf?! is achilles a cyborg?!

  • @Rob4010 If you mean the blow to the leg, i think it was stopped by the leg armor.

  • @merzer131 his leg armor was not made of iron, so whats with that sound?

  • @Rob4010 Okay, i see your point! I think it was a simple editing / Foley mistake, though.

  • @merzer131 exactly.

  • Comment removed

  • @Rob4010 No, it's no Mistake. Achilles is invulnerable except his Achilles-sinew - thats his only weak spot because thats the position where his mother (a goddess) held him while bathing him in the sacred water.

  • @F1st4lpha dude i'm from greek, i know that story like myself, :P i just found that sound weird since he was just invincible,

  • Wihtout the help of Ares/Pallas Athena achilles would get killed.

  • @RGamerProductions If you mean the battle in this film, neither of these gods helped Achilles. If you mean the duel in the Iliad, only Athena helped Achilles there; Ares favored and had helped the Trojans in a lot of cases (and was injured by Diomedes, a Greek king). Achilles was a better fighter than Hector, in the Iliad this is clear. Also, when a god helps a warrior in the Iliad, this is not "cheating", but a confirmation of his value. Ancient Greeks had another way of thinking.

  • achilles jumps so high

  • Ahhh, Ancient Hellenic Ballet. Most amusing.

  • 1:46 HONEYDEW!!!!

  • Achilles is awesome. "This will be the greatest war the world has ever seen. We need the greatest warrior." -Nestor to Agamemnon

  • it's not how Hector died... lol

Homer's Iliad describes the Trojan army as retreating back into the city, Hector stays behind and is killed by Achilles (the description in the Iliad is rather vague), in his last moments he saw his city above him. Troy.

  • @EweTubee Yep. According to the Iliad, Achilles chased Hector around Troy three times before Athena finally convinced him to stop and fight. Hector turned around to face Achilles, Achilles threw his spear and missed. Hector thought he won, and threw his spear, but Achilles caught it on his shield. In the meantime, Athena went around behind Hector, retrieved Achilles' spear, and returned it to him. Hector charged with his sword. Achilles threw his spear again and caught him in the throat.

  • @Ithilienranger9 ,

BUT, Achilles was protected for ARES, the god of war.

  • i like Hector, good man, good prince, good warrior, good husband... to bad that Achilles killed him, they both are great

  • NAGKJASBNGFJKASBFHJNKAMSBFHUJASKBNIJKSAFHNUAKJFBNASJKFNJSLFNAJKFCHNSIAOKLFJAISNJKFASNHFIJKSNFJKSFNJKAMSFNJIAKSFNSAFK that's all they said.

  • Helen very non, for the most beautiful woman in the world. There were some much more interesting looking girls in this very movie. This might be where Brad Pitt peaked, though, here,or Kalifornia.

  • Acgilles much OP!!!

  • lol hector falls on a rock 1:40

  • what the fuck, when they started talking, it ruined the moment

  • @BM0v0 eh, the talking was more logical than the dancing.

  • Czech dubbing in it rly sucks...

  • give me rose byrne phone number

  • Way to trip

  • Well, old Greek myth always exaggerates history such as Hercules, gods etc, they never faced true worriers outside of their region, worriers like gengiz khan, back in those days ppl would tell one n another just as Chinese vissel, by the time word reaches to end, tomato becomes potato.

  • now that is what you call a real soldier hand to hand combat best man wins not dropping bombs on innocent people.Lol bring back war over land not for cheaper oil prices.

  • 0:55-1:11 takes ill kick your ass whith one hand behind my back to another level

  • haha he has his shield on his back and fights, thats bold

  • Wow, I can see more thanks to your clip! Tha plan is wider than in other ones. Has it been recorded or is it a DVD version? Or maybe it's such a special version for certain TV sets?

  • Good times.

These days tuff guys take out guns and shoot each other from undercover.

    Not fun anymore.

  • @Jabitout Lol this is the only movie, besides LOTR, that has some decent fights with swords. Ever heard of Terminator or black hawk down? yeah those movies are really old...before this. But i know what you're saying sword action is much more thrilling, because you can see the swords and you can't see the bullets.

  • @HighxFinity 300 is the only movie along with LOTR which has superb swordfighting.. This fight scene and the beach invasion are the only good scenes in this movie

  • On my hand I would love to put more emphesis and impact on the hits Achilles makes, just to get that big thrust vibe

  • Dude Achilles is freaking fast on his feet with a mix of dynamic blocking movements. And every time he strikes hector my heart just pound on the impact, his moves are so impressive, they say he is unstoppible but the only weakness he has is his heal. Thats how they came up with "THE ACHILLES HEALS"

  • @SKATERPROX64 Heel. heal is what you do to someone you treat their wounds and HEAL them. Heel is a body part I kicked him in the face my HEEL pushing in his eye into his skull.

  • This scene was crap. It such a monumetal scene and they cant even build the feeling with a good back ground music or actor drama. 2/5

  • good job BRAPID

  • I wish they would stand together, cause theyre both awesome. This makes a master fight though.

  • PWNED!

  • skoda toho nahlupleho dabingu :-(

  • I like the tears of his wife , I wish i had someone to cry on me if I die

  • Brad Pitt looks so stupid in some of the poses he's in. Otherwise a cool scene.

  • Hector!!!!!

  • Let we say that we live in a time of Hector.

    FREE ILLYRIA.

  • @TheEaglesight Hector was greek dude. Decendenat of Dardanus, greek...

  • @TheEaglesight What does Hector have to do with Illyria? You seem to be very ignorant. Illyria was located northwest of moden Greece. Hector was prince of Troy, which is in the northeast territory of Anatolia (Asia Minor).

  • who can form obvious questions faster and show off their knowledge pretentious youtools!

  • 1:28 Good one Hector!

  • wow... russian achilles

  • it's actually wierd becaause when hector tried to shove the spear through achillesses leg theres no way achilles could have lifted his leg that high

  • @dexannn have u seen a wrestlin match? it happens all the time

  • best 1 on 1 battle ever

  • agreed

  • second that

  • @Fozinato7 Expect for Anakin vs. Obi-Wan on Mustafar in Episode III

  • @avamp96 nice

  • 0:31

  • i think its quite interesting how aggressive hector was towards achilles in the fight most of the time he was making the first move, it would have thought against achilles who was supposed to be the greatest warrior you would be more defensive?

  • @MrParamorelover Achilles was more on the offense than Hector was.. If you noticed Hector was using his shield most of the time and he was more offensive only after he put a scratch on Achilles' armor and towards the end mainly because he had two weapons with him and even that proved useless against Achilles since he was still getting wounded on his knees and pushed back.. Nonetheless Achilles was winning most of the time except for that scratch Hector did..

  • that's a pretty impressive fightscene. screw the matrix lol

  • name of the song tthat starts when hector dies ?

and where i can get it

When i watched the movie for the first time i was like WTF MAN YOU HAVE TO AIM

  • 1:16 is dope

  • he always does that

  • achilles was killed by paris in the garden of troy, an arrow strucked his heel, actually he did took a few arrows in his chest, but guess what? hes one tough motherfucker! according to the encyclopedia, achilles was invincible because when he was a baby, her mother dipped him in the rive of styx so he will be safe from wounds, but his heel didnt quite dipped by the styx water, so...end of his life

  • Isn't the river of styx, the river of hell?

  • the river of shit

  • Styx is the river between the living world and Hades, which can't really be likened to heaven or hell as according to Greek mythology almost all souls go there. Tartaros is more like hell, where souls deserving punishment go, Elysion is like heaven where the particular virtuous and brave go.

Styx represents the crossover from mortal life to the immortal life in one of the three planes of Hades.

  • You know your Greek mythology, but who rows the boat accross the river?

  • The Candy Man!

  • Charon.

  • The Romans had ballistas, catapults, and other deadly seige equipment. Their Legions were highly trained and disaplined. Any barbarian force that defeated Rome, was due to out manuvering--which is the Mongols only option, but IF they decided to fight the Romans in an area where there was no possible way of flanking the Legions, it would be a sluaghter and a victory for the Romans.

Over all it just depends on who fights the other man's fight.

  • its proven that europe always wins although trojans mite as well have been europeans they had the same skin color as the greeks same gods same customs the only difference was people who lived in troy called themselves trojans and people who lived in greece called themselves greeks but europe in battle kicks the shit out of asia just look at the persian wars for 3 days 300 spartans held off over 200,000 persians the only lost cause they were betrayed by a coward but greece still won the war so ya

  • ur right about the weapons, but not about the feild tactics. Unless the mongols decided to retreat, then quickly turn back, like they used to do-then the Romans might lose.

But i just don't see how their military could win, unless the managed to flank the Romans. But if they're dumb enough to fight Rome's fight, they'll lose quickly.

BTW the Roman tactics and siege weponry would also be a big factor.

  • i agree with erosensai he knows his histroy unlike sum ignorant fucks europe kicks asia's ass any day of the week

  • If the Romans faced the Mongols in an open field battle... Romans would win... Europeans had the best armies back then, but now its America.

  • hmm i dont agree with u. ur wrong on that one buddy

  • k first of all mongolia4ever alexander could kick ur ass as could most europeans than u very much and second achilles may have won the fight but hector was a way better man id want to be a trojan over a greek anyday although i do love the greeks also but retard it was moslty the athenians and thespians that were bisexual but so what who cares they were still great warriors and asisa is lucky alexander died or he prolly would have nonqured them to that was his plan

  • i could be wrong but when alexander died in babylon was he not returning home because his men didnt want to go anyfurther?

  • he stoped in babylon to rest

  • after killing him i heard that achilles dragged hectors body around troy from his chariot .

  • yea he did that too show troy the fall of their prince / soon to be king.

  • pwned

  • i like how he tries to go for his achilles at :0:53

  • calm down its just a movie dont blame achilles lol he did his job thats all.

  • I guess Paris the coward liked watching his brother die while he kept is whore wife as a prize.

  • im not into mythology, but i really like this movie.

can someone tell me what is the result of achilles's skill? is it his immortality, or is it pure skill like hector, or both?

  • he is not immortal first of all in an early scene a boy asks him if he is immortal and Achilles says " If i was immortal i would not carry a shield"

But that is the movie in the book Achilles when he was a baby got dipped in water that made him immortal except for his heel which his mother held him on when she dipped him

  • alright but is his skill a byproduct of his partial immortality is what i want to know

  • yes he is partially immortal and his skill comes from the Gods

  • ok thanks

  • honestly i wouldn't use the word immortal it implies he cannot die. His powers are from the gods but he was never immortal just blessed.

  • I think here the sense of the word inmortality isn't the one we usually think about. I belive it is in the sense that people will always remember you and as long as they do you will be inmortal because there is always someone that will remember your name.

  • hector in the illiad was so afraid of achilles that he ran around the battlefield like 9 times or something running away from achilles

  • @gabe228 yea he got fucked up from the rest when he died

  • lol stom stornsky bynsx, that ruined it.

  • he gets fucked up

  • stop in 0:45 :)

look at the camera shadow ;)

  • LOL dayum!

  • In the book Achilles gets on my nerves... He comes across as an egoistical bastard...

Hector is actually much more noble. Sad that he meets such a horrid end.

  • Hector would have won, if Achilles wouldn't have been dunked in the river (i forget the name) his mom put him in. The River protected him from anything (except his foot) so without it, Hector would have won.

  • The River Styx, guarding the underworld.

Yeh, Hector /should/ have won, anyways X3

    Cause Hector is just amazing.

This movie should have just been him pwning people for two hours XD

  • In the Iliad Achilles is never mentioned as immortal and there is no mention of his being dipped in river Styx. He actually survives the entire poem which ends after Priam meets privately with Achilles to beg for the return of Hektor's body. Achillus' death, the Trojan horse and the fall of Troy all occur after the Iliad has ended in a series of shorter stories not part of the Iliad at all. My point is that in the Iliad he is supposed to be mortal including the duel with Hektor.

  • lol it did. in the Iliad there wasn't really a fight. they both threw their spears and Achilles had two. so when they came at each other Achilles got him in the neck.

  • Achilles was the most famous greek fighter ever in the history!!!!!

  • In our mislead 21th century eyes. If you had read the Illiad (by Homer), you'd see Hector comes out as the real hero. It's quite a sad story.

  • yes, in the movie the greek are portrayed as the good guys. But in the Illiad they are actually the bad guys. Makes you wonder if the mpvie producers even really read the Illiad.

  • In my opinion Homer, whomever you consider Homer to be, makes both sides equally admirable. It's a human story more than anything. This war is an unavoidable fate sent by the gods, a test to the race of man based on the jealousy of the divine beings who hold so much sway over everything. No one dies anonymously in the Iliad. I believe this proves Homer is trying to show the horrors of war which would be a very real part of ancient life that his audience could well relate to.

  • Hector killed Achilles Student. So Achilles would avenge him by killing Hector. Then he dragged him around the city many times.

  • Hector Killed Achilles cousin

  • In the Ilad Patroclus is supposed to be Achilles' cousin but most classicists consider Patroclus to be Achilles' lover.

  • Achilles is gay???

  • Homosexuality was enforced by the Trojans to get the men to get closer to one another, so they would always back one another up in a fight.

Gay, doesn't really count for back then. It was just what they did.

  • so he is gay...gay is homosexuality, Achilles is gay if he chose to be Patrocalus' lover, but Achilles isnt Trojan, isnt he Greek, or is Troy part of Freece or Rome??

  • It wasn't just Trojans who enforced homosexuality.

And once again, was only to bring a better relationship when in combat. Doesn't mean he would get married to a women, etc.

  • troy wasnt part of neither

  • SebastianStudios1

Europeans always and will be gays forever like Alexander the Macedonian lol.

    I bet youre gay.

  • Got a problem against europans??

  • I was just messing around. I was bored so I dont know just commented like that hehehe.

  • ohh my bad for calling you a fuckin moron then hahah sorry, we all make retarded comments for fun hahaha

  • alexander wasnt gay you fuckin moron. go learn your history, when he conquered babylon they offered him 12 men for sexual reasons, he turned them down and took it as an insult. that movie was sued for potraying him as a fag.

  • trojans? you mean spartans?

  • lol idiot,Hector is a shit!!!!

  • 2:53 OMG kiss!!!!

  • Achilles is no half god in the film. He's a normal human being with great reflexes. Obtained throught a lifetime of training and exercise.

  • Hector wouldn't have known achillies was half god, in the play they just thought achillies was an unstoppable warrior, in greek religion if they would have known achillies was half god he would have been in a far larger authority status, and management position bigger then the small force of a few hundred he commands in the play, In fact achillies makes several efforts to hide the he's half god from everybody else if you pay close enough attention.

  • 0:55 The perfect ancient Greek pose. Just like a painting on a vase from B.C.

  • MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!

  • achillies is a big punce

  • haha omger this is the music from achillies the flash game

  • hector yenilmez bi kahraman benim için hector kazanmıştır.

  • though achilles is cooler i always preferred hector cos he isnt half god

  • Hector is the hero of the Iliad

  • FooD ChaiN

    Hector < Menelaos < Paris < Achilles < Hector

  • this was on amc last night

  • troy owns, but i own more

  • Good call!

  • at around 36 seconds achilles spear glides over hectors shield and bends. Kinda funny.

  • LOL! True!!

  • dude I hadn't notice it

    LOL
