"Remember, press P". Had to grin at that one as my answer would be "Game Engine disabled in this release". That's by the way actually true as often Blender is not with BGE compiled in, at last under Linux. Nice video nevertheless although myself I'm not fond of BGE but that's my personal view.

What do you think the licensing agreement would be for producing and publishing something for profit using open source software like Blender? The horror! The horror! I'd hate to be the copyright lawyer to try and work through that issue.

The license isnt restricted for make games. The output of the program its totally yours. You can sell them and everything. Another thing its the executable, that is open source, and you must put a copy of the gpl license, but anything more, because you can sell these gpl programs with propietary (yours). Obviously, i are the owner of your part, not the gpl part.

For curiosity, i was of blitz basic before, and i make some interesting things, like one fps with on-line options, but for the fast prototype of blender, i prefer it.

I'm pretty sure there were a few renders in here. The VideoTexture plugin isn't at the quality to produce difraction like the bit at 1:33 its getting better but not that good.

These demo its only one texture, it look like a reflection. You cant see the ball in another angle or you will see "the trick".

You can simulate mirrors in BGE, exactly like another engines, making a copy of the objects inside the room of the mirror and moving them inside of the mirror.

how do you run armature animations in realtime?

You must use the Actuator "Action" inside de ARMATURE. Its an exclusive Actuator from the objects type "Armature". And give it the name of the action to show. Easy, right?

Well, now its even better!! The apricot team its doing an great work giving shadows and new lighting by shaders!!! Anyone with one low cost graphic card (40 € or even less) or integrated can access to these effects!

You need to remember that Apricot is using Crystal Space as the 3d engine, not the GameBlender engine.

i think i used 2.43 in the moment of the demo. Not all work because the change of physics. You could exchange the type of physics in F8 , Myst/stars/phy panel...

Its glsl. You could access trought scripting, but now with the new "apricot" branch isnt necesary.

I had one X1300 from Ati, a really low cost card. Now i had one 9600GT, ten times better, hehehe. I recomends you better card you could buy, but with some nvidia 8600GT (low cost (60 €)) or nvidia 9600GT (very nice rating/cost)

Yeah, Blender its like 3ds max, but Free Software, its a nice comunity behind, and can make simple games with mouse clicks... But before of that, u must learn the blender program of course. I learn all and now im an great blender fan. Its a lot of people working behind for make a better Blender day to day.
