The vid is trash as not a single take off is seen. For all we know they could be heading down to the opposite end of the airport to a fucking car park. I don't give a fuck as to the reason why you didn't show the take offs.....if there's a fence in the way, go and stand somewhere else....if there's nowhere else to stand, go to another fucking airport. Whatever you do, stop dishing up trash vids.
One more thing....if you're at maximum zoom....BUY ANOTHER FUCKING CAMERA!!!
@pinewood8091 Dumbass, you didn't give him an assignment to make this video, so what you see is what you get. And dumbass, he already explained why the rotation and lift-off wasn't shown. So dumbass, if you don't like it, get the fuck out of here, and don't complain to the one who posts good quality footage.
cool video; I love to fly on the rare chance I get to go... its always an adventure. Always amazes me that these engines squirt hot gas & get such speed to take off let alone "fly" @ altitude (an adventure in itself). Forget the haters, its a great vid. Only thing I can think to add is that it would have been a pleasure to fly the old prop planes; I bet that was a great experience:)

it is very imporatant to limit how often you fly just a pilots do. the limits they obey are very much for health reasons. The uv exposure up there will really do you in over time if you over do it
In practically each shot, I am using full optical zoom. Soon after the plane starts rolling, I start zooming in gently. Btw: I take the fact that you didn't notice it as a big compliment.
For example, in the NW DC10-shot, I'm at full zoom at 32 seconds.
The end of each shot in the movie is about 2 frames away from where the fence would become visible but I specifically chose not to show that fence because I find it totally annoying.
Video taken at the very beginning of the runway. At that point, you can hear the engines spool up.
As the plane starts rolling, it becomes smaller and smaller and when it actually leaves the ground, it's more than a mile away. It's view is blocked by gates/fences. If you choose to see footage from a small, hazy dot, leaving the ground while a fence it's blocking it's view: look elsewhere. That's not my idea of a good video.
For the poster, who commented on the Boeing 777 sounding different. I'll add, to what the other posters stated, the 777 uses different engines. HOWEVER....That was a VERY quiet 777 considering the amount of noise, there engines usually make upon take-off. I've been on many airplanes, throughout my travels. But i have to say, that Airbuses win in terms of "sound factor". Then again, the loudest i've heard, was a Antonov An-225. When you hear that sucker "spool-up", you know something big is comin

With the sky-rocketing fuel-prices, airlines nowadays have much stricter baggage policies (even the North-American legacy carriers who used to be very generous with respect to their baggage allowences)!
I'm not 100% sure but as far as I know, the term "heavy" primarily refers to load factors and not so much to the size of the aircraft.
I think that if A F/O who announces himself as "This is KL324 heavy", he is trying to point out to air traffic control that his aircraft is fully loaded so ATC can take this into account.
In its most simple term the word "Heavy" means that the aircraft in question weighs in excess of 300,000 lbs. Even if the aircraft is lighter than this weight (fuel/passenger load) the term "Heavy" still applies. The one exception is the Boeing 757, which weighs less than 300,000 lbs, has been found to produce significant wake turbulance and thus requires the same seperation as a "Heavy" aircraft. "Heavy" is used by ATC and other aircraft to increase seperation.
Thank you for your answer my friend. One question: What's the difference between DC 10 and MD-11 ? I ask you this, cause both airplanes are very similar and i wanna know the difference between them.
i've never been on a double decker p,ane but i would absolutely hate sitting in the way front on the bottom row cause ur further up then the pilots...
I believe ATA recently bought 7 of Northwest's retired DC-10's for their military charter flights. They'll fly 5, and keep 2 for spare parts. Just saw one parked at LAX yesterday with sort of a 50/50 paint job. Glad they're still going.
you are right. ATA did recently (in the past year) purchase several DC-10's from NWA to replace their aging L-1011's. The terms of ATA's military contracts state that they must use widebody aircraft with minimum of 3 engines, and since 747, A340, and A380 are too expensive for the airline their only choice was to use DC-10's
There's not many in service as passenger planes, most have been relegated to being 'cargo dogs' aka hauling cargo. FedEx uses the DC-10/MD-11 for that purpose, same for UPS.
i have a lend of one of these take the seats out and you have pure luxury.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we feel that meals on aeroplanes are so interesting and special?
(2) What is the fun and enjoyment to dinning at 42000 feets high?
(3) How does a tasteful meal on aeroplane make us feel good for flying?
(4) What kinds of nice memory does the taste recall/inspire you?
