LaWanda Page, who played Aunt Esther, made a cameo appearance in the original Friday film, starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. She played the same type of religious character in Friday, too.  I wonder if her appearance was meant to be some kind of a homage/reference to "Sanford and Son" or something .. One of the BEST sitcoms EVER, with one of the best catch phrases ever ..
