  • RBS = ribosomal binding site? I thought that the ribosomes can only read mRNA, unless...does the ribosome follow the DNA polymerase as it tracks down the operon and translate continuously?

  • @cheddybumpkins That's right. The RBS designation here refers to the segment of DNA that encodes for the RBS within the messenger RNA. We basically skipped over the translation step.

  • whew, this video helped me on my biology homework

    many thanks for the upload

  • oh yeah!!

  • great illustration! must more clear seeing this happen visually then just being told about it step by step...

  • what is a fusion protein ?and what does RBS stand for???

  • @ramprs26 A fusion protein is created by the joining of two separate strands of DNA originally coded to make two separate proteins. I forget what RBS stands for. I'm just the animator.

  • @scatterbrain73

    RBS = ribosomal binding site

  • @ramprs26 Most likely, RBS stands for Ribosome Binding Site. That's the sequence where ribosome binds to the mRNA molecule to begin searching for the first Start codon (AUG), so that it just doesn't randomly pick a different AUG codon in the mRNA and makes a different protein.

  • @Djiniiiiii Yeah, I think you're right.

  • virus a hacker, that hack our DNA lol so thats how the computer virus got its name

  • elmers glue may cure dna structures

  • vry superb

  • this is an awesum video...it really helped me understand this rdna tech......thanx a lot!!!

  • what is fusion protein

  • thank you for sharing..i have a biology exam tomorrow and that really helped! thanks!

  • So fricking iterestiong

  • this is good understandable video, which is showing what is actually happening inside medium.Video like this really help us to understnd.

  • Is like spider man

  • Thats why America uses recombinant DNA using genetic engineering so that we don't have to keep exctracting insulin from pork which is waaaaaaaaay costly because they have to undergo some lab research to make sure there are pathogens present in the pork and that alone cost money. The recombinant insulin cultured in the labs keeps on replicating and reproducing. Insulin shots now are way cheaper than it first came out using pork insulin. Thanks to Americas genetic engineering.

  • That was a cute video, the glue bottle was a nice touch. My son really enjoyed it, and it was easier for him to understand as I helped translate. Thanks for the upload, perhaps you could decide sometime to narrate the vid and add the audio track.

  • Thanks this really helped me prepare for my midterm tomorrow in my molecular biology class.

  • You're all very welcome. Since I've been working in this job I've learned much about molecular biology myself.

  • this helped my HSC!

    =D

  • you can see more website links on

    DnaFreeTest[dot]Com

  • really really thank uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • recombination tech animation

  • 1:11 -- Good old Elmer's DNA Ligase works every time! XD

Seriously, thanks for the upload -- I've got a final tomorrow and I'm leaving early, so I can't take time to learn this!

  • lol!

    Late Like Me.

  • this REALLY helped me understand how recombinant DNA works. THANK YOU!! ^^

  • hey... there's no sound... pls help

  • there is no sound

  • There is no sound because there is no audio track. This was meant to play for a lawyer in the courtroom to narrate over in person.

  • I'm doing a project on this. Can anyone explain what the promoter, RBS, start codon and end codon do? I can't really find them online.

  • If you cant find info on these bio functions, you are doing something wrong. Look harder

  • I finally found some stuff. I kind of get it now.

  • I looked up dogs online and couldn't find anything either.

  • how can they touch the cells or bacteria with a seringe? isnt it too small? if you move the seringe half a milimiter to the side, you will skp hundreds of cell, how can scientists be so accurate?

  • machines that move the slightest movement possible

  • vaccins are modified virusses and also in small amounts.. so you make the antibodies without getting sick. Your body recognizes it as nonself and makes antibodies and "knows" for next time, just like in crops which have sort of the same system..they also "remember".The modifying is done by recombination. bacteria allmost do it automatically.

  • Thanks for this vid. I find it very nice that theres no sound and its slow like this.

  • si this the same method for vaccins and protecting crops.,,. plz answer i got a oral presentation soon!!!!!!!

  • lol

  • i need this video plz gide me to download it

  • that was so helpful! thanks so much!

  • GOod vid, but if its meant to help people it should give a short description of what certain things do, instead of using a purely visual medium.

  • Informative and easy to understand

  • very informmative

  • i see the question come up on how can you download videos and i want to know if it is possible to download videos from youtube?

  • i need this video, can anyone tell me how to download it please.

    thanks

  • What does RBS mean? I can't find the definition anywhere. And how can I download this video for free?

  • I think RBS is the ribosome-binding site. This is the area of mRNA where the smaller ribosomal subunit(30S in prokaryotes) binds in order to start translation. After the RBS and the first place where a start codon appears (AUG) translation generally begins. AUG functions as a start codon ONLY when preceded by an RBS, otherwise it encodes for Methionine.

  • Otherwise known as the Shine-Dalgarno sequence in prokaryotes and the Kozak sequence in eukarotes, is that correct? I'm still a bit weak on some of my terminology.

  • how can i download thoi video

  • lol they put elimers glue in DNA structuring! jjk

  • I saw a lecture in college on this( HIV/AIDS virus conspiracy ) years ago by the late independent researcher Zears Miles!

  • what's RBS???

  • RBS is the Ribosome binding site. I'm not 100% sure but it is after the promoter and before the start codons so this makes sence

  • Good

  • I am going to clone crocodilian humans for wars

  • done already....

  • thanx dat rellie cleared up the process of recombinant DNA for me!

  • great this really helps with my biol assignment!! all it needs is audio and it'd be even more awesome

  • thank you its so clear now!

  • Thanks so much for posting this video! It makes Recombinant DNA so much easier to understand.

  • Comment removed

  • GREAT TOPIC

  • And that's how i am goign to fuse the DNA of a lizzard with human DNA and figure out what gene turns on when the lizzards tail is cut off, then grows back so then people in the army that lost arms or such will grow new ones =) but its not that easy..heh

  • Whoa... (deeeeeeeeeep breath)

    lol

  • shoot for the heads

  • @crazyhax Dude, isn't that out of a spiderman comic?

  • DNA is very interesting. I always have a liking to it but it's hard to understand sometimes. Thank you for the upload and YOUTUBE for creating such network that allows people to educate one another!!

  • Yes I totally agree with you!!

  • really good, i wish it were done w/ musik though! But, good job, thnx!

  • The only reason some people hate Biology, is because of their limited mental capacity, which doesn't allow them to completely understand the marvels of that study.

  • You have no idea how ignorant you just sounded. Some people hate biology because it doesn't interest them whatsoever.

  • I know this comment is a year old, but I think Biology would be a lot more interesting if they called it "Magic" instead of "Science". Because the two are technically the same thing. :3

  • Technically, no they're not.

  • Somebody knows where can i download this video???

  • use newest realone player, u can download it!

  • thanks im learning this in bio(which i hate!!)

  • as long as it deals with dna, its cool(especially after you plat bioshock lol).

  • Really well done.

  • Awesome, I'm doing an assignment about this in Genetics atm. Thankies ;)

  • that was a very helpful video

  • thank u so much..

u really save the day ..

hope this animation helps me in the exam tomorrow.. ^_____^

  • Excellent, could do with sound tho!

  • gooooooooooooooood

  • Im in medicine skool and we took one course of genetics T___T SO DAMN HARD and now we hav exams and this video helps a lot thanx but it would be better with sound and music XD

  • is med school hard?

  • good question T_T

ive been studing for one exam a whole WEEK and not even breathing the outside air and i believe that maybe not sure probably i will pass "i hope so" next week ANOTHER EXAM, which means ANOTHER WEEK OF STUDING AND NOT BREATHING THE OUTSIDE WOLRD AIR.. this is the only answer i could provide XD

  • aww! dw im sure ull pass =) and yeah i relle wanna get into med school, but i heard its RELLE hard to get into -_______- ;;

lol but yeah good luck, hopefully ill make it too!

  • thank you XD hope u get in too XD

  • very very good but no sound why? can send me a saample?

  • i like the DNA ligase Elmer's super glue... thanks for the video!!!

  • life saver bre

    thanks man

  • very very helpful. great visuals too

  • I was looking for a very simple video to use in class and when I saw this one I just thougt "hmmm, neat". Thanks very much.

  • Very helpful indeed! I was struggling to understand the concept of recombinate DNA untill I found this. Rofl this gives me an excuss to study on youtube! Woot

  • booring dna glue

  • nice :)

  • THANKS A LOT

  • i love the elmers dna ligase =]

  • its realyy halpful to undrstand the basic of rdna technology in few minutes in a very layman way.......

    THANK U VERY MUCH

  • enzyme restriction demo helps. thank you.

  • thanx for uploading. it help a lot for my revision. thank you very much

  • quite a good video, but without a comment or sound. And it was far to simplified, e.g. ligase = glue, common!

  • hhh

  • Yeah, this was made for a courtroom animation; the lawyer was narrating alongside the video.

  • What was the case about? Do you still have that info?

  • süper bişi bu yaa

  • Hi, they're all great video's. i was wondering, how to download these clips and others similar to use as learning resources for some of my students.

  • Elmer's glue dude. haha.

  • That is a pretty good video. If it only had sound to explain what is happening for those not in the know.

  • Wtf there's no sound...

  • lmao i had to watch this for my class and i was greeted by the awesome comment below this one.

  • i agree with above statement, but cheers for puttin vid up

  • Voice or music would massively enhance this.

  • There are 20 angels in this world

    10 are sleeping

    9 are playing

    1 is reading this

put this on 4 video comments within 15 mins,if u do, sum one u love will surprise u sum how!! If u don't , u will lose ur love

  • my penis loves your soup!

  • oh dear....how pathetic

  • this is the first youtube video i've ever took the time to comment on...i've been studying this stuff for weeks and just couldn't remember it well..you know how that is? you study and study but it just doesn't sink in? Your video helped me a lot! I'm glad it was simple! All of a sudden, all this stuff makes sense! Thank you!

  • It really helps a lot of us, as txt books sometimes not that helpful

  • nice :)

  • Extremely well done. I especially like the memory aides for the polymerases and ligases.. might note that this is for a Prokaryotic DNA, though.

  • you could also spell "cientific" correctly.

  • a litle "basic", could be more cientific.

  • nice spelling dude..
