i wouldnt even call those cages.. especially the early ones that were riveted together.. me and a friend of mine turned 2 6x6s into a dune buggy on my latest deployment, i welded every joint and added diagonal bracing and gussets to the cage to make it an actual cage.

yep my boy flipped his today too. i was in the middle in the back and my roommate was in the front passenger seat. he took the full impact. the only thing that kept us inside were the four point harness. no helmet just a smashed foot and a killer headache. the ranger was fine just a jew scratches. i got some of the ride on video the sucky part was that i had put my camera away when that happen. he tried to do a donut. to much speed/to hard of a turn. no one was wearing a healmet just googles.

I have to see if you would have been there you would see it was just an issue on choice of line he chose the wrong line due to his inexperience there was other people that went up it and they chose a better line as for the cage polaris makes them that way to save the frame from getting knocked all to hell. it is a safety feature also like those crush bumpers on cars allowing it to absorb the impact. I was there he put on my helmet, we went all over Moab trails and had no major issues.
