I have a problem. My laptop (a Compaq Netbook) for some reason will not go up to 1024 by 768 for some reason. Can you help me with this problem at all.

@godofcrap42 With Windows, anytime you cannot get the resolution that a monitor was designed for it is typically because the correct driver is not installed for the video card.

My moniter resolution was changed. After that my moniter is showing an error "input signal out of Range change settings to 1024x768-60Hz".

How do I change it back to default? There is only a black screen on moniter so I can't get to the desktop to click properties to change the resolution back to the suggested setting.

@yolanda1161 You may have a bad connection or loose pin in a cable, could have bad video card or could have bad monitor.

Check connections, then swap out monitor if possible and try on another PC. If the problem goes with the monitor then the monitor is bad. If the problem stays with the PC then it's the video card.

i have a question, when i record something on my pc (full screen capture setting), the result just come with like 2/3 portion of my screen (which suppose to be full screen), the part of top right, bottom left, bottom right of the video is blank..

@Wackey2k9 If you have the right driver installed, you should be able to choose whatever resolution is supported by your monitor. If the game requires the resolution to be NO MORE THAN 800x600x32, then you will have to set the resolution down to that to play the game - but no RECENT games would require you to do that, only very old ones.

@MasterOfGmodMichael If you have the correct video drivers loaded and the correct driver for your monitor - what you see is what your choices are. Either your monitor or video card do not support anything higher.

My original resolution was 1280 x 800. But I went to this NVIDIA Control Panel, chose a custom resolution of 1280 x 1040 and applied settings. Then boom, my screen was so clear!

@android059 Make sure that windows sees it as a 941bw and not just a plug n play monitor and that your video card is seen as the model it is and not a generic driver.

Also, your video card must be capable of that resolution

@bbbbaaaa122 I would suspect if you look in device manager, the updated driver is not installed. Either it's not the correct driver or perhaps you need to uninstall the driver, reboot and reinstall the driver.

Hi, if your resolution is stuck at 640x480, it sounds like you have the wrong video driver on your PC. If you open up Device Manager on your PC, do you have a yellow exclamation mark next to the display property?

It sounds like you've just set your resolution too high. The higher the resolution allows more pixels to be used in the same amount of screen space. If you're having trouble reading the screen contents, adjust the screen resolution again to a lower value.
