i don't know too much about moths, but I do know that butterflies will circle around you in attempt to show you they don't want you in there space. I also know that moth wings are covered in a type of powder to provent there wings from getting damaged. It also could be dust or pollen that has collected on there wings from outside, perhaps you had an allergic reaction to it?
