  • I've read in a book that by the year 2050,the old people population will be more than the young people in the first time in the history of mankind.

  • This is such a beautiful You Tube video clip. Imagine that, living that long and seeing the 20th century came and went right before her eyes.

  • Amazing!

  • Remarkable recollection of memories although he had to relay some memories to her but it is obvious she remembers them. Remarkable how she response back to the questions directly, She shows no signs of dementia or amnesia at all.

  • Wow this is amazing fantastic film!

I enjoyed watching this She seemed like a wonderful person.

  • rest in peace

  • Ella Schuler died on May 7th, sadly.

  • She just moved from 8th to 7th after Walter died today.

  • @MichaelAisner I was sad to hear that, Walter was the coolest centarian!

  • She's now the 6th oldest person in the world because Breuning just died!!!!

  • she's going a little senile but then again she is 113

  • Actually he died in 1910, the year Halley's comet returned.

  • but mark twain died in 1901. She would have been a lot younger.

  • This lady hasn't passed because she just isn't ready to cash out yet. Every time she laughs she shows that she believes there's more to live for. It's too bad she still can't walk, but by how effervescent your character was, I don't think she's bothered by it too much, if at all. Keep her happy and she might just live forever.

  • She has a hot granddaughter but shes probably about 20 years older than me.

  • i wonder how she feels to have lived through both world wars and the cold war...

  • She sounds pretty good for 112.

  • No one expected her to be alive in 2010 I bet!

  • @Pugslee3 And now 2011! She'll probably even get to ride in the world's first flying cars, holy shit!

  • Wow, talking to this lady is no different than if I were talking to my grandma who is currently 81 years old. This guy is very fortunate to still have his grandma around even thought he is in his early 50s.

  • Its amazing that you can still have a conversation with her!

  • Wow, if I can, I will do anything in my power to try to reach this age! That means I would get to see the year 2100. The technology will be amazing!

  • hopefully she will catch up to jeanne calment who was 122 years old, born in 1875 died in 1997

  • Thanks Michael! Thanks Tom! Great post! I had a great great grandma who made it to just shy of 103. I was too young to ask her any meaningful questions, but was in awe. Her son, my great granddad got a bunch of questions from me back in the day.

  • It would be awesome if she spoke about childhood stories of when her grandparents told her stories. Would probably when slavery was still around (the stories of the grandparents >_>)!

  • Love it, love it!

  • This is one of the most interesting videos on You Tube. What this woman has seen, and what she must know, is kind of mind boggling.

  • I got to be with my dad till he passed, at 89. Folks who don't appreciate old people not only do a disservice to their elders but also to themselves and their own children: Old people in general have so much knowledge and wisdom (and occasional prejudices, giving us a glimpse into another aspect of the past); and in particular, your loved ones can give to you and receive from you the most important thing in life: love.

  • Voila! And let's not forget that most people get to be an "old person" someday and you know -- what goes around comes around!

  • What a beautiful video of Ella's life...your grandmother is an amazing woman, Liz! She has inspired me! Thanks for sharing!

  • Great video.

  • That is amazing! And very cool! Tom's GM ! Wow...

  • This woman is incredible! I so admire her spirit and energy, even at such an old age. I want to be just like her when I get older.

  • She's so beautiful. I can't wait to be like her :)

  • Best wishes to her from England. :-)

  • why was 'always ate meat' important?

  • I put it in there because people knowing I was going to go see her wanted to know what she ate, and drank and if she smoked. We asked her if she ate meat and she said, "not pork but fine beef. we liked good beef!"

  • This is amazing. Through how long she has lived and through what she's seen she is still happy and hopeful.

  • I want to be just like this woman when I grow up. <3

  • 113 New Years Day celebrations really puts it into perspective!
