i miss tht place even though i dont remember hollywood florida i was born there then i lived in miami florida untill i was 2 years old then moved to ohio i miss all my family down there.

Hollywood is beautiful... but u go too far inland... its scarey.. infact... anything south of Blue Heron is scarey to me. lol

I remember this beach. Was nice, and the pizza place I ate there was nice. Beautiful beach.

I lived there till I was 9 years old, great place to live! I remember always having Six Flags Atlantis water park season passes, and Grand Prix Race O Rama! haha I went back by my old neighborhood and school recently and wow has it gone down hill and its basically a dump down there! Just overun by trash and foreigners, guess all the regulars got tired of it and left. Still trying to move back to South Florida in the next few years!

I lived in Hollywood from 1970 until 1980 but went to HS there and my family always went to Hwd. Beach from the 1950's - this decade. Sadly they are all gone now and I left long ago to live in a safer part of Florida. Hwd. was truly a paradise, especially the beach and boardwalk. I miss things no one else younger now understands. A list of what is gone:

People that spoke English and were polite, not rude.

When crime was nonexistent (still best in S Fl).

The old Playland Arcade at Johnson St.

@joesphx19 I miss the old arcade at Johnson Street too. I used to have a rivalry with a friend of mine playing the old hockey game in there. People here don't even remember Six Flags Atlantis, which was huge, much less a small arcade. It's a shame.

Funny thing, passed that 6 Flags so many times driving by on 95 and never went there. There were some lakes/rock pits there back in the '60s, my brother and I would bass fish there. Growing up in the 50's and 60's down there, no one today new to S Fl or no one younger can even imagine how much fun we had being kids there.  There is a web site that you can find in a search on old Miami or South Florida. Lots of folks our age remembering those years and lots of photos of those times.

Hollywood beach is beautiful... U can spend the entire day there... a beautiful boardwalk for biking, running, blading or just strolling... I had a wonderful time...

Hollywood has some nice things.

I lived in Hollywood for a few years. Downtown suffers from many low class unhappy business workers and a reputation for horrible attitudes from waitresses and cafe workers. Not all , but way too often. Too many homeless and con artists begging also .This is a reality of Hollywood. Some businesses just act like 'give me your money' without being friendly. Some are friendly though. Downtown businesses suffer from a lack of sophistication .
