can anyone tell me why paul bettanys character dosent have a name in this movie? the same thing happened with edward nortons character in fight club. There characters just never have a name :S
Pie and mash, puddles of blud and scrape you off the wall.... The nastiest violence scene of all film history I think. First time I saw this I hit the fast forward button... then went back but needed a ciggy break and a beer before I could continue.
When I watched this, I thought immediately that the orange you glimpse at 6.32 was a nod to The Godfather (where oranges are seen in many of the significant death scenes). But when I googled for this, nothing came up. Did nobody else notice this?
Lenny was actually a tough motherfucker, even while being tortured. All the while of his consciousness, he still said fuck you to the kid. Props to Lenny!
The problem today is that children are not adequately protected from seeing this on here. I have this movie but when I was a kid in the 60s & 70s before video, children could NEVER have the chance to see violence of this kind or sex. Cinemas were strict and movies in the 70s never even had THIS level of violence in them anyway or obscene language, even if they were 'X' films, or '18' rating. TV did not have that stuff either.Young children now see ANYTHING on line as it's not easy to prevent it
@TheKenfig yeah but the generation before you was even more censored. Though... they were tougher and more violent prone....This movie is a work of art, it tells a story, it's not a piece of propaganda that was prominent in what you watched as a kid.. A young and vulnerable person would not go out of his/her way to see this film.
@AncientDaneBC Well I don't agree except that there was more censorship. It's inevitable that young kids will often see these movies as they're in their homes, or their friends homes. I heard 11 year olds say to each other "did you see the bit when she was put in the acid bath ? " about 'SAW' or some slasher movie. I never heard the word fuck in school until I was about 10 years old
i know who Lenny is..lol did u reply to wrong person by mistake or what? i dont recall asking and doesnt make sense for me to..I seen the film sum yrs and and few 100 times since. i know which is lenny.lol thanks for replying either way.
beautiful. putting the viewer in the victim's position while the killer expresses his distain, sorrow, and odd pleasure in dispatching of his target...masterpiece of film.
You've watched an online american rip then, the English version shows this whole scene, it's probably the best/worst scene I've ever seen, you don't see much but you feel the brutality. I was watching a streamed version and it suddenly cut to him on the sofa, who'd have thought you could see the whole scene on YT?
in the movie i have, it dosent show the whole scene, just the part where he runs at him with the axe, then it cuts to the part with him sitting on the couch.
you better make a fucking good job of this boy !

@MilitantMovieBuff I have no idea why he doesn't have a name either. In my opinion though it makes him that much more evil.

I wish this movie was thirty minutes longer or so. It feels as though they rushed this movie at the end.

Ulysses odyssey psycho version.
The talent of the man that created this scene (and most of the film) is astounding. Totally original.
