I'm not Chinese, but I'd be damned if I said I wasn't impressed. The Chinese made the opening ceremony fun to watch and kept its culture in tact. Hell, I bet a few people actually learned things about China they never knew before.
A lot of people are giving the Chinese crap for the gymnastics ordeal, but seriously, it was fun to watch and all the girls did great. I was just angry that the girl that was pouting the whole time didn't get smacked. She looked like a freakin spoiled brat.
Chinese are proud people! even islolated by the western and Sovet powers; They still can build their own rockets, sent thier own people by thier own rocket, found their own fosil field and many science achievement that made their anemies jelaous ( always try to demonize , deny thier system and leaders) , but friends admire...,, proud of you Chinese!
I was cheering for Beijing the whole way through the Olympics. I thought they did an awesome job!!!!!!! congratulations Beijing, the world watched.... and the world fell inlove!!! ^^
thuonggotluck, London is the next major summer Olympics in 2012 though technically there is the winter Olympics in 2010 in Vancouver like there was the 2006 winter Olympics in Turin.
yea i came back from shanghai, the olympics there was way better no commercials, they explained everything, food was better(chinese food) and it was more exciting
Hey, I am the new face. Which appears to be in Beijing Olympic Official Choir, which me going to sing in Opening and Closing Ceremony. Not lying. We are from CISB. Canadian International School
I saw a video in China of the olympic games of Beijing, obiously I didn't understand anything, jajaja, I was wondering if you don't know which of all it is. There where scenes of previous Olympic openings and closings, some of the emotive moments of the Olympics, specially Athens 2004, and I don't remember very well, but the singer was a male.
I saw it but it isn't the one I saw... ummm... it has a pair of track athlets taking their hands and passing the crossline together, and scenes from past opening ceremonies, and some of the scenes when the people won, or outstanding moments. But thank you very much for the video!!!

Terrible composing effort. This was a missed opportunity to use Asian instruments in new ways instead of using European instruments in old ways.
