Actually the mustang is about right maybe more rwhp, but i know for damn sure that corvette is not 510rwhp, more like 450 rwhp. Because i own an ls3 with about 440 rwhp and i still beat the 2.2 kb terminator!!! If that vette had 510 rwhp this would not even be on youtube!!!!
Those Cobras hung in there quite well and were driven properly, Thats a fast Cobra and I think it's putting a little more power to the ground than whats being stated to be able to hang w/ a C6Z on the freeway, because a cammed C6Z is a monster from a roll and should destrory a Cobra making those HP #'s but, they were shifted quite well and the Vette driver must be a schmo IMO good runs, nice vid!!
@202WRX yes they do , it's a tremec t56 . The only difference is in the 5th and 6th gears. Corvette zo6 : 5th .74 6th is .50 and the cobra's 5th is .80 and 6th is .63.

all awesome cars, i love the cobras and am getting one in about a month. c6z's are badass, you can tell the weight advantage the z06 had over the cobras, but also 2-3 times more expensive. whatever though, all are badass cars.

With the right HP to the vette the cobra would probably 10 of 10 times c6 zo6 505 HP vs cobra 485 HP wont win but if it had 500 or more as long as it makes the weight difference it would any smart person would know that

This is a perfect example as to why the modular ford motors are just paper weights even when supercharged like the one in this video. Even when supercharged, it can't beat a naturally aspirated corvette. The only way to truly make any power out of the mod motors, you HAVE to have a supercharger or turbo. With the new Ford coyote 5.0 you won't need a supercharger. It's a bad ass engine right out of the crate, and no boost needed.
@mine1username Think before you insult the 32 Valve Supercharged Termi engines. 390HP stock. With a KB, pulleys, exhaust, and tune your looking at 500HP+ EASILY. Vettes are cool, but nothing fucks with a Snake.

But the build quality of a Ford is 3 times better than a GM product. With GM though, the engines are very well built and powerful for what they are. I'm a Dodge guy too, but although I like the power of the engines, I wouldn't trust one for a daily driver. They just have to many issues.

People act like GM and Ford built these cars as competitors...couldn't be farther from the truth, F bodies have always been the mustangs competition and was a fair match up till the 03 cobra was introduced but by that time GM quit production of F bodies. If the cobra was cammed though that might be interesting. S/c's are awesome but you can't replace the raw torque and crazy powerband a good set of cams gives you.

@krisisbeast I ran multiple 12.5-7 stock on 91oct with worn out tires and have seen kb's like this run mid 9's, this winter I'll be getting the blower ported and pullied and I think I should be deep into the 11's, ls engines are fast as hell but cobras are every bit as good
@krisisbeast when i had a 2.8 pullied eaton cobra i ran 11.7x @120-122... i mad 455rwhp and 458tq on a dynojet if you dont see 450rwhp cobra running 11's, youre not looking hard enough.
BTW said cobra is now whippled. 2.3L with RR 2.85" pulley. 610rwhp/566tq on a MUSTANG dyno. 10.8 @130. and has eaten a pair of c6Z06's. :)
@edmundnlemadim well you are one of the few that have. I go to tracks often and see them run low 12s, and most have aftermarket blowers. But you should have been running faster than 11.7 with 455rwhp. You should have been in 10s. And with 610rwhp you should be in the 9s. You need to do some suspension mods.
@krisisbeast no i need a built solid axle and a diet. Do not be fooled by hp numbers... my cobra full weight with aftermarket rims (17x10.5 rear) full tank of gas weighs 4085 lbs.. with an aluminator longblock (-90 lbs) K-member, lightweight battery, Steeda ultralights, rear seat delete, solid axle swap, and CF hood and decklid i could shave 350-400... and run an auto and have 9's all day... but the car wouldnt feel the way it does. either way, 10's are 10's... and i like rowing my own gears!

I had a KB Cobra and that sucker was stout. I now have a C6 Z06 and it sure is a monster. All those cars are nice, props!! On a second thought, that ported eaton Cobra was moving!!!! Nice shifting for sure!

People act like GM and Ford built these cars as competitors...couldn't be farther from the truth, F bodies have always been the mustangs competition and was a fair match up till the 03 cobra was introduced but by that time GM quit production of F bodies. Now with the introduction of the new camaro it's an even playing field...the SS vs GT and the new ZL1 vs Cobra. I've always owned chevy and always will but it's all in what your into. The vette is Americas sports car always has and always will

@hellbound413 cobra and z06 arnt in the same type of class. thats like sayin a c6z06 cant run with a ford gt. both cars r sick.stock cobra wont beat a stock c6z06 but it will beat a stock camero .and every1 knows how shitty the camero is. and for the money aspect of it. a 2007/8 c6z06 runs 40k minimum..a used 03/4 cobra runs 20 average..with ur 40 k u got a stock z06 pushing 505..the smarter thing that most would do is get a termi put in 20 more k and bam pushin easy 700 :)

A 305 vs a LS7 is a pretty tough match to begin with. I don't fuck with the new vettes, period.
If the cobra was cammed though that might be interesting. S/c's are awesome but you can't replace the raw torque and crazy powerband a good set of cams gives you.

Are you getting hand or cnc ported LS7 heads? Why are you going with the LS7, the LS3 heads that come on the 454 will flow more than what you power goals you aiming for. and since your getting the fast intake your going efi, what supporting fuel mods you have planned?

@krisisbeast I ran multiple 12.5-7 stock on 91oct with worn out tires and have seen kb's like this run mid 9's, this winter I'll be getting the blower ported and pullied and I think I should be deep into the 11's, ls engines are fast as hell but cobras are every bit as good

@krisisbeast when i had a 2.8 pullied eaton cobra i ran 11.7x @120-122... i mad 455rwhp and 458tq on a dynojet if you dont see 450rwhp cobra running 11's, youre not looking hard enough.
BTW said cobra is now whippled. 2.3L with RR 2.85" pulley. 610rwhp/566tq on a MUSTANG dyno. 10.8 @130. and has eaten a pair of c6Z06's. :)

@edmundnlemadim well you are one of the few that have. I go to tracks often and see them run low 12s, and most have aftermarket blowers. But you should have been running faster than 11.7 with 455rwhp. You should have been in 10s. And with 610rwhp you should be in the 9s. You need to do some suspension mods.

Do not be fooled by hp numbers... my cobra full weight with aftermarket rims (17x10.5 rear) full tank of gas weighs 4085 lbs.. with an aluminator longblock (-90 lbs) K-member, lightweight battery, Steeda ultralights, rear seat delete, solid axle swap, and CF hood and decklid i could shave 350-400... and run an auto and have 9's all day... but the car wouldnt feel the way it does. either way, 10's are 10's... and i like rowing my own gears!

@maanyoutalkalot also... the cobra is prolly 20-25k $ where as the vette is a hell of a lot more expensive. and its newer. plus the mustang is a pony car and cobra vs vette isnt the matchup ford intended. if you want to pit anything vs the vette that was made by ford try putting the vette up against the ford gt. ford build to ford gt with the sole purpose of proving they could beat the vette. the cobra is just a loud badass car
