Well, when the game died, they said they'd never do it again...then a few months latter they were acting like it hadn't even existed. There's an infamous interview out there somewhere where the CEO is all excited about maybe someday having an online option in sims 2 or 3, as mmorg's are new and exciting, and having The Sims, online, is something no one's thought of before. That really ticked off the community lol Thanks for watching, and who knows, maybe someday it'll be back...

I have no idea what TSO was but I have heard of Second Life. You've made a wonderful tribute to a world I will never know. I think I am familiar with the music. Something by the same guy who did the music for a video, The Pines, about an abandoned resort called cryptic sorrow. I'm favoriting this so please leave it up.

Well thank you! TSO was The Sims Online...an online version of The Sims. There are a couple of shots of Second Life in my video (such as 9:52), and that's where a lot of sims relocated to -- both in my video, and in real life.

Not that I know of, I know what you mean tho So many things I'll never do again. Kicking flamings, eating mystic fruit, shooting my cannon, the joy of my purple turk rubbing my legs even when she didnt need soc, greening, friending, hide and seek,pizza, code, and my all time faves dip kiss, flying hug and pile drive!

Some things can never be replaced. Sigh. Hopefully over the years the Flickr group and videos here will bring us sweet memories. Thank so much for all you've contributed!

lol On April 29th, Electronic Arts announced that it would be ending one of the first social MMORG's, The Sims Online, on August 1st at midnight PST. This upset a lot of folks in their userbase, in particular those that post on Stratics, the gaming site EA uses to communicate with the TSO community. Additionally, players of TSO and other social games have often been made fun of by hardcore gamers, especially those who prefer PVP-style gameplay. Combine that with my zany sense of humor...

and you get this parody/social commentary on the situation with TSO shutting down, the search for a new game to play, and the various factions in the roleplayer versus PvP debate. A lot of it is inside jokes that only playeres of certain games will get (for example, ya gotta be into both The Sims franchise AND Guild Wars to get a monk in Piken Square saying "Selling Bob Newbie's ashes, 50 gp"). And the soldiers with guns, hmmm, perhaps they DID come over from Call of Duty...

Fantastic vid! Am huge fan of Second Life who has never heard of TOS and ur comments about tp'ing between worlds has come true with Lindens recently posting vid of visit to Open Sim (or somesuch!). Hope u've not given up..Otherworld cometh :)

I used to play TSO. I got out of it years ago, and just recently stopped in for a visit before they shut it down. Was really weird and empty.
