  • the only way tibet to be free from the clutches of communist china is to fight or through violence.even i am an indian, and yes violence is wrong.but even a innocent cow when threatened will fight back for it's life or freedom,we can't call this action as violence, rather it is self defence.there is a saying in india "a thorn can only be plucked out by using another thorn".the chinese government went after thier own people with tanks, then tibetian non-vioolence is nothing to those coward's.

  • you are never free, if you cant own your land, vote, worship, dress and speak about issues. I admire these children and people. Please continuetospeak out, Keep telling the world until they listen and help you.education and world press will prevail...love to dali lama and tibetan people and the children in all lands where human sufferingis ok. thanks for informing us all.

  • Free Tibet,Boycott China,It is morally wrong to buy products from totalitarian, oppressive states.

  • eware of the .50 cent club which are Chinese paid fifty cents for each lie they put on the Web. The most massive effort to spread lies in the history of the world, reputed to number over 300,000 doing it. Beware of this scum which you can spot by foul language and dissing HH Dalai Lama.

  • Why are these uneducated, oppressed, tortured Tibetans speaking in English (instead of the 2 official languages in Tibet)?

  • How annoying If you paid attention, some Tibetans arrived prior to interviews. Some came from torture in prison. Some have been in India for years, working for the Tibetan Govt in Exile (English spkrs). Some were tortured previously and escaped. You're a moron my friend. You don't care about Tibetans, why waste your time posting? You're banned from posting here future posts will be monitored for nonsense. Youtube ain't a democracy pal, but then you wouldn't know one if it hit you in the rear.

  • @unisti..

You stupid fool, they are speaking english, becasue they want the world to know they are being wiped out by EVIL chinese.

  • Independent Tibet was invaded in 1949. When will Tibet be peaceful ???

    Delete spam from Globalvisual

  • Tibetans were FREE before the invasion of independent Tibet in 1949, but communist morons turned Tibet into a TORTURE, DEATH and STARVATION Prison.

Tibet had it's own language, culture, passports, currency, stamps and treaties with other countries. All those things show Tibet was independent of China.

The World will be free from the evil communist party cult

  • Tibetans are more human than the rest of us, Free Tibet!

  • ....it is amazing... how the entire Chinese population....can only spout the government line... and nothing else.....i live in china .... and i never hear anything but the same regurgitated crap from them.....

  • I think most Zang ethnic minorities (Tibetans) activists, living outside of their motherland, China and a small number inside China, including a small minority of Western sympathisers have realized that they have lost a lot of respect in the International Communities today. The disruptions of the Olympic Torch, The Beijing Games, The riots in Lhasa, Xizang (Tibet) province of China in March 2008, and many other disruptive demonstrations had been condemn by people worldwide. Peace to the world.

  • compulsive spammer Glob

Replacing Tibetan words with made up chinese words is part of the Cultural GENOCIDE in Tibet that has been happening in Tibet since the chinese communist party invaded independent Tibet 60 years ago.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has failed in its mission and role and is a joke because it supports GENOCIDES just like the CORRUPT Colonial Chinese Communist party and Yahoo.

  • Mission and role of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)

    4. Cooperate with the competent public or private organisations and authorities in the endeavour to place sport at the service of humanity and thereby to promote peace.

  • Let's just say Chinese killed 100,000 Tibetans, at a bare minimum, then what? I don't understand why people continue to dismiss the seriousness of this. The situation in North Korea is just as serious of not more serious than this. The situation in the middle east is even worse. Is it an excuse to avoid feeling guilty about the state of the world? If not, what's the reason for this?

  • Fear and ignorance. Fear of offending the Chinese economic juggernaut, ignorance of the facts about China invading Tibet. Just because someone repeats a lie over and over, will not make it true. I recommend going to Tibet, and see for yourself what's happening there. Or go to Dharamsala and meet some refugees. or even wherever you live, find a Tibetan buddhist monk, and listen to what he or she has to say. the truth sets you free.

  • MILLIONS killed under chairman Mao's rule in the PRC is estimated at 65 The Black Book of Communism 70+ Mao: The Unknown Story 77 RJ Rummel Yet Mao's picture is STILL in Tiananmen Square. The communist party hasn't changed its lying and brutal nature. The persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. How many people in the west even know what Falun Gong is. A few months ago I had no idea what FLG stood for. FREE Tibet FREE East Turkestan FREE South Mongolia FREE Falun Gong and FREE China
  • Thank you for sharing this movie.

Thank you Tibetan people for being courageous enough to talk about your experiences.

Thank you for your non violence, your beautiful culture, language and compassionate ways.

You have always inspired me and you always will.

  • You're welcome. Free China = Free Tibet

  • Although your movie showed a side of the story, I don't think it's creditable enough.

First, the people you interviewed in the refugee camp have their mind set already because they are the unsatisfied group of people.

Second, many of them are political leaders, their words are untrustworthy.

The best way is to go to Tibet yourself, interview common Tibetans from different areas, different classes. That'll be a much better work.

Where did you interview the Han shopkeepers? In Tibet?

  • I asked refugees 3 questions; "Why did you leave Tibet? What was the journey like? What did you expect to find here?" Two interviewees are refugees from the govt in exile, one woman who runs the Refugee center. They've seen over thousands and thousands of refugees. They have no reason to lie to me. They didn't know I'd post this on youtube. I've been at this a long time. I'd give the other point of view if I believed it. I spoke to Han shopkeepers in Lhasa. They all said the same thing. Sorry.

  • "They have no reason to lie to me." I wouldn't be so sure. These people said that Chinese gov killed 1.2 million Tibetan. Do you believe it? What we need is not the extreme claims or presentations from either side. What we need is the true, undistorted version from everyday Tibetan people that's currently in Tibet. Your documentary certainly does not serve that well.

  • If you go to the Tibetan govt in exile's offices in Dharamsala, they've set up a process for people to tell their stories about who died and when. They've cataloged these figures for 49 years. What figure would you be happier with? 700,000 died from starvation, but only 500,000 were shot? Why not include the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1906? or the 16,000 monasteries destroyed? I didn't make this doc to serve any purpose than to hear the Tibetans speak for themselves. Sorry it offends you.

  • There are nothing to be offended by. Don't use this tactic on me. I am not here to negotiate with you. You either told the truth or you lied. I mentioned this 1.2 million figure just to show how desparated and stupid these liars are. Check the archive of Dalai's own gov before 1949 yourself. The population at the time was about 1.1 million. Who invaded Tibet in 1906 timeframe? Uhr, I beg to differ, I think was British. Everyday Joe don't know much about Tibet history. Don't you cheat on them.

  • Get our your history book my friend. The British invaded in 1803-4. The Chinese showed up in 06, slaughtering Tibetans in their homes. The 13th Dalai Lama sought refuge in India; Charles Bell came to the rescue. The Tibetans defeated the Chinese, threw them out. They remained out until 1949. I'm not here to negotiate with you either my friend. Perhaps straighten out your facts perhaps. In the meantime try going to Tibet to see for yourself. Open a book. Any Charles Bell will do.

  • British invaded in 1888 and 1904. They killed a few thousand Tibetans and reached Lhasa in 1904. The 13th Dalai Lama flew in refuge. Initially he wanted to seek help from Russia but Russia had its own problem and couldn't help. He had no option but turned to Chinese Emperor (who authorized his title and later tried to took it away). The situation was complicated. Even Francis Younghusband who led the invasion was amused on the whole thing. Read his book "India and Tibet" yourself.

  • My friend, I've read much about Younghusband and the invasion. Have been to the sights of the battles. Have been to London to hold the statue of Buddha that changed Younghusband's life. The 13th Dalai Lama made it to India where befriended Charles Bell, who wrote many books about the Tibetans and their culture (without the Chinese being there, by the way). If Russia had helped, as feared by the Brits, Tibet would have been like Mongolia, and would now be free, like Mongolia is, post USSR. Thanks

  • Talk about school. Before 1951, the only place you can get certain form of education is the monasteries. Now there are universities and all kind of schools. Although, for higher education, they probably use Chinese in teaching, but in india dalai lama's school gives those lessons in English, what's the difference?

  • can't learn to speak Tibetan unless you pay extra. Just listen to these people who are telling the truth. The truth will set you free my friend. I've been to the schools. They teach in Tibetan, and then English. You can't learn Tibetan in Tibet unless you pay. Imagine giving up your own children forever so they could go and learn to speak Chinese. These are brave people my friend.

  • Before communist government went there, most of people there were illiterate as well. Do you blame the government for that as well? All the parents in China with kids in schools pay lots of money. The education is not totally free any where. That's not just Tibet. Maybe they are poor and can't afford, but there are millions of Han Chinese kids can't get education as well. People. That's a 3rd world country

  • My friend, I appreciate you being passionate about the subject. all i can say is "go to Tibet." I interviewed 12 Han shopkeepers for my latest documentary. All of them said they hate Tibet, they hate Tibetan food, and Tibetans. The only reason they stay is for the money. Once the money is gone, they will leave and go home. That's ok. The US found a way to take over Hawaii and Puerto Rico and still make them feel respected.

  • the singer talk about her grandparents died of malnutrition. Is that a result of Chinese rule? Before 1950, the average life expectancy is 35 years old. That's the condition of the peaceful nation was in. Why people die so young? Could it have something to do with what they eat and how they get treated when get sick?

  • I interviewed Grammy winner Yungchen Llamo's mother as well. I didn't use the footage because she was in tears. They died of malnutrition in prison my friend. Many Tibetans were starved to death. I'm not saying its your fault. Many American Indians starved to death in our own war with natives. But once we learned to respect each other - with laws, we have learned to live together. Tive Tibetans the respect the deserve. That's all.

  • Yes, there were people died. But you don't deny the fact that under Chinese rule, the average living standards increase a lot even in 1950/1960's, not to mention recent years. Why there is no mentioning any of that? Demonizing the opposite side doesn't help solve the problem at all.

  • this guy is certainly a liar. All the political people are liars. No doubt. Chinese didn't build any hospital/school, anything? If this guy want to spin the fact, please use a little bit of effort just say Chinese built stuff just for themselves. How can anyone deny hospitals/schools/power station/airport/highways. There wasn't any highways in Tibet before 1950, now there is 25000km. Who built those? Tibetans? or is that a miracle performed by Dalai Lama?

  • Go to Tibet ytb. I've been. The road gangs are Tibetans. The engineers are Chinese. Mussolini made the trains run on time while slaughtering Italians. The key is; if you want to keep Tibet you should like the place, the people. Learn about Tibet. One day you'll want to go there.

  • If you are implying these are forced labor then you are just stretching this too far, my friend. If people don't like the place, why they pour so much money to the region and build all kind of stuff? There are political struggle here. But, it's not just about opprission or dominance. The development of Tibet society in the past 50 years can not be matched in any era of Tibetan history, including the increase of populations.

  • Currently all levels of Tibetan government, the number one guy is a Tibetan. That's by a autonomous region law. Although these are Chinese educated Tibetans, but they are still Tibetans. On the 2 sides of the conflict here, the separatists are the ones trying to exploits and trigger racial angers far more more than the government.

  • my friend. I haven't been to Lhasa or any parts of TAR. But I have been to Kham region which is part of greater Tibet for many times. From my point of view, things are not like what you portrayed. People don't like the food or whatever is not the point here. The English word "hate" can have quite different meanings when used in different contexts. Not sure what you mean here.

  • Pretty simple. As soon as there isn't triple the pay they get to work in Lhasa they will go home to China. They very much don't like being in Tibet. Very much don't like the food, or the people, or the climate, or the altitude. They have to go back to China to have babies because of complications from altitude. They can't wait to leave. There's hope for Tibetans after all. Once the roads are built, the electricity is on.. the people who hate Tibet will go home. Then Tibetans can build casinos.

  • I think when Tibetans have the freedom to rebuild their thousands of monasteries Tibet will become a major tourism destination.

I have no interest in going to Tibet while it is under the brutal rule of the communist party and Tibetans are not free to speak out.

Tibetans have spoken out on many youtube videos.

Many Tibetans in Tibet spoke out on "Leaving Fear Behind" (24 minutes) which is on youtube now.

Any Tibetan in Tibet who speaks out on a video is a hero in my opinion.

  • lies! Stupid liar.

  • I'm glad you watched it. My friend, Tibet may be part of China one day. Like Hawaii and Puerto Rico became part of the U.S. All that is required is mutual respect. Let the Tibetans run their territory within China. No one wants to take Tibet from you. We want you to wake up to the beauty of Tibet and respect it and its people. One day you will be proud to count the Dalai Lama as a person of Tibetan descent who lives in China's Tibet Region.
