Funny video i work in new orleans it find it odd that that car a police car can last 15 years and still b running, heck gettin 6 years out of our ambulances is a job, i wonder if nopd will get the new ford police interceptor.
@beezel08 I spend most of my time on the Westbank, in Mid-City, or in the Quarter. By far, I see most of these old cars around the 8th District. Maybe it is one of those things, they have a small district and they like having the vintage cars in that part of the city.
The car is a 1992-1997 Ford Crown Victoria. Most police departments stopped using those cars in the late 1990s, early 2000s. The lighbar appears to be an FS Vision lightbar, which most police departments stopped using in the early 2000s and replaced with LED ones. In other words, that is a ghetto-ass police car, especially for a big-city police department such as the N.O.P.D.
Those cars are all over the place in New Orleans. There are indeed many modern cars with LED bars and everything, but for some reason they are hanging on to this legacy equipment. Maybe it is for nostalgia's sake, I don't know. But they definitely do look hood as hell.
@emig504 Are you really pissed that I criticized an NOPD cruiser? I see the 504 in your name. Get over it, dude.
My family is from the Westbank. I took this video on a road trip about two years ago. Me, my brother (who is a cop), and my dad drove down from Atlanta for my grandmother's funeral in Marerro. Don't get pissed at me because NOPD won't buy new cars. And I don't blame them. Landrieu has other priorities, like paying for college educated officers rather than thugs.
lol all the money this city makes they cant afford a damn new police car. they still drive these damn things
