people need to lighten up, if these dogs truly help people, then who are we to tell them to leave? and yes i'm allergic to dogs, and i have no problem seeing a assistance dog, in a store or restaurant especially since these dogs are not pets they are well trained and very clean.
I agree that there are benefits of a hearing dog, in the absence of close, visual presence of another human being. I also feel it is something that can be abused by the hearing and partial hearing who primarily just want companionship. If it is the latter, I feel the dog should be classified as a companionship therapy dog, so that the true hearing dog and truly deaf owner can experience utmost respect in their public interactions.
