  • Yes, she can play the drums, guitar, fiddle, banjo etc...

  • @MrDonaga

Heavens to Murgatroid! Not only a beautiful lady but a gifted vocalist & tremendously talented musician! Amazing & awesome! :-)

  • All you naysayers don't know sh*t! This lady, in addition to being a star vocalist and knockout - can play the heck out of that steel guitar. This is very well-done. Give the lady her due... she can wail! I think she can play saxophone, too... and maybe drums.

  • @GeorgiaBoy1961 Love it! She's great.

  • I grew up wanting to play steel guitar, because of my 'uncle'. but I think I set my goals too high. I had this in mind and then married on of San Antonio TX's premier steel players Denny Maths...I put my bar and picks away and the last time I touched a steel was to set up Denny's. Who knows, I might take it up again.

  • @kittyhawk127 Please do! Then come back and tell us about it. Did you know that musicians have a larger part of their brain, the Planum Temporale, as shown on brain scans? And if you start playing again you'll pick up where you left off, and be so glad you did!

  • She aint no Leon McCauliffe but she's prettier.

  • amazing

  • Great playing! The waves in her hair must of glued in place.

  • Don't know if Barbara reads these posts, but, dang! I forgot how HOT she was and is. If you'll allow to end on a preposition.

  • Fantastic multi talented lady. Used to watch her on TV when She played a different solo instrument every week. This is a great version based I think on the old Jerry Byrd version

  • Oh my goodness. What a great version of this.

  • Lordy lord, kickass playing and not to hard on the eyeballs either. I'm just starting to play steel and I will never be that cute or that good on steel. What a gifted woman.

  • put a whole can of hairspray on your hair and it won't move either...

  • Amazing how her hair doesn't move. At all :)

  • And she didnt even break a nail.

  • And to think she could do all that and look up at Johnny and smile at the same time! Ginger Rogers dancing in backwards in heels, take a step back in line! Is Barbara back to playing/performing after her head injury (1984 or so)?

  • @neuron13 Oh Lord no. This is recorded YEARS Before the Car accident.

  • That version right there would make Buddy Charleton and Leon Rhodes very proud. That is some hot pickin on a very tough arrangement.

  • Shes hot and plays very good. Perfect combination!

  • Think Barbara Mandrell started at age six and appeared publicly by age 11. She's retired now, bet she's a great at parties, though. Wonder if she still does Gabby Hayes impersonation.

  • I saw Barbara Mandrell do this song on The Mall in DC in 1991.

  • Saw her live in the early 90's. She's the most talented musician I have ever seen. Played 4 or 5 instruments that night as good as anyone anywhere, She;s cute too!

  • The late Ralph Mooney taught Barbra how to play steel. Joe Maphis taught her how to play everything else; they did a GOOOOOOD job!

  • @pro3tlb: Man alive... talk about taking some lessons! Can't do no better than those guys for teachers....

  • .. i better before she got her teeth caps !! ............this is original BM .. thx for the post of the tiny hot chic that played w the hard cores , and done her show so well and terribly lost her band >> God bless Jesus and God Bless Barbara M . so there !

  • Does anybody know who's playing the other guitar in the background?? The compliment is extraordinary.

  • .it got hot in the room at 1:56

  • SHE IS GREAT :D

  • One of the true greats of real country music, Barbara demonstrates her her musical acumen and talent...and proves she aint just a perty face - you're an inspiration, lady!

  • good god

  • jeez louise... i mean barbara!

  • She must be the Annie Oakley of the steel guitar. Best I ever heard.
