@MegaGrinsy 'Baba' comes from Pete's spiritual influence, Meher Baba. 'Riley' comes from Terry Riley, a minimalist composer Townshend took influence from. The 'O' is in to make 'Baba' and 'Riley' flow better.

As a child of the 70's I obviously rocked out to this song many times but...

...it took on new meaning when I visited the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland in 2005 and this song was playing outside while we were waiting for it to open. For all of us freezing our A**es off, It made our day feel epic as we sung together and changed forever how I listen to this song. It definitely ranks in my Top 10 all-time Rock songs!
