I think the best version of this song is the instore performance in Austin TX from 2007 with Peter Case and Paul. Peter sings it and it sounds like it's his song. Search for it on Youtube. As for the dude who said the Plimsouls are dated, I don't know, but Peter Case has definitely proved to be the most talented guy that came from the Nerves.

This song is called Walking Out On Love. It is featured on the Breakaways demo CD just released by Alive Records. The Breakaways was Paul Collins + Peter Case after Jack Lee left the Nerves and before they respectively founded Paul Collins Beat and the Plimsouls.

Paul Collins had nothing to do with the song hangin' on the telephone. He was the DRUMMER for the Nerves. He only sang one song that he carried over to the Paul Collins Beat.
