  • japanese songs are like more turning in words. chinese is like more straight forward.

  • she's amazingggg

  • alan i love you

  • Alan

  • Isn't she big enough now that she does not have play at a venue like this?

  • @th3rm0 But isn't it nice to see that stars are wiling to play even on small events?

We had german rock singer (Die toten Hosen) that played on small partys for free (they only want free beer)...even if they had concerts with 10-thousands of people...

Form that view...its nice to see stars even on small events...

    Good

  • Amazing as always Alan ( :´D

And whats that instrument called ?

(Erhu), the Chinese incarnation of Persian Kamancheh.

  • thank you :)

  • i agree

i never knew she played 二胡 :P

    but she's awesome

  • BONITA VOZ

  • This is not an Enka song, this song may be sung in Japanese, but I believe it was actually written in Okinawan. And Ryukyuan's are not Japanese. Totally different people anddifferent language, and what this is is shima-uta.

Alan does a great job, but not quite as good as moriyama ryoko or natsukawa rimi.

  • Actually...the only Okinawan line in this entire song is 'nada sou sou'

Rimi Natsukawa re-sung it truly in Okinawan as well as Japanese. :)

  • Yes, but Japanese is alan's secondary language, and she played an erhu solo and postlude- making her performance a little unfair to compared to said artists.

  • how.

  • Yes but how is it unfair, learning an instrument isn't easy nor is learning another language. As an artist you have to creative, that's exactly what she is doing.

  • You misread my comment. I was replying to the op for criticizing her, my point was that it's unfair to say so and so can sing better than alan precisely because alan's performance includes playing an instrument, which is difficult to do, but she did it beautifully and in a foreign language at that. Read before you add your two cents in, yes?

  • Yes, I agree with wmcnair. While Japanese isn't Alan's 1st language, she's skilled at singing it. Others like Rimi also performed this with instruments (see for yourself).

Alan doesn't appreciate the song enough to connect with it. It's obvious that her most emotional moment was during her erhu play, not the vocal. That's creative, but defeats the purpose of the song. Erhu is distinctively Chinese, not Okinawan. A good piece is when the artist tells the true meaning of the music, not viceversa.

  • Don't get me wrong, I think Alan is a great singer, and her erhu performance is also fantastic. I love the erhu myself. But it felt out of place here, as if suddenly I'm listening to a chinese song now.

It is as if she locked her own potential within herself here (and her other live versions of this song), which is sad. She sounds much more powerful on her other jp songs like sakura modern, diamond, etc.

However, music is an art, not a science. Many will disagree with me and with good reasons.

  • @ryoki99 I am one person that disagree with you :-)

I like both...her japanese songs and also chinese songs. I love "sakura modern"...but also I love "most romantic thing" espacially with the erhu.

She is very great with both.

Both languages and slyles has its own..."charming"..don't know how to say that better...my english is not so good.

Go ahead Alan...don't let your style fixing to only one thing! Its nice to have multi talent.

  • Pretty amazing vocals

  • go alan i will support u....

  • she's really particular, original **

  • i wish alan would do more cover, or better, release a cover album of enka.

  • i totally agree with you. Enka is wonderful and i think she would be great at

  • Alan

copy-paste good :):)

  • 1st of all, I don't know the language. Yet I found this song very touching. I've heard of Rimi's version. I must say Rimi's exhibits more emotional tenderness. Japanese is not Alan's 1st language. She might not transcend the depth of emotion as good as the native singer in Japanese. In terms of vocal technique & capacity(thanks to her training at Music Academy), Alan has great potential to surpass the native singer.

  • great song, of course can do better if it was recorded in a studio. I sure you can hear the tender side of it.

  • Rimi sounds exquisite live like her recordings I would say even better.

  • I love

  • Pretty amazing vocals but for some reason I don't get tenderness as when I hear Rimi Natsukawa's version.

  • typo: I don't get the same tenderness

  • you should listen to the other live of alan singing this song it has more emotion

  • (o_0)

    What a voice.

  • Tashi Delek Alan Dawa Dolma

    See you in Lhasa tibet

really nice voice with good sentiment. i hope this girl Alan will go far in japan and she would be, indeed.

  • alan sang the song really well...she has that traditional sound that goes along w/ this song, just as rimi natsukawa did...and she plays the instrument too...so talented...

  • Thank you, nice to see something from dec with her! Do you by any chance know what she will be doing now in jan and forward?

  • A perfect voice for a perfect song

  • wow...her voice just sooooooooooo sweet^_^ I love alan^_^
