  • WHAT A SOLO, MAN!

  • One of the most underated bands of the 80s

  • @TheWiggz22 and 70's

  • beautiful melody

  • i grew up with the police, i hope they sounded better on stage, they sound shit, here on youtube, i know they can sound a hell of a lot better, bad sinc, i think is here, awful, download, not happy

  • @davidhaythornthwaite sounds nice and lush to me...warm, analog.

  • AWESOME!!

  • Stewart Copeland is a GOD!

  • me gustano i police in auto....certo devo stare attenta all'accelleratore hi hi

  • Andy is da woman?

  • you wont find many people attempting this at a karaoke bar.you know why?...Sting's range is beyond most male singers.A unique singing genius!

  • The Band Looks So "Under" Compared With The Maratonic Tours They Do The Last Time...

  • なんだコレ!凄いな。

  • Stewart Copeland está por encima de la raza humana.Increíble

  • Stewart Copeland is just amazing. Great Drummer.

  • Man, no band from any era wants to see this group in ca. '79/80. Unstoppable.

  • Pleasure, Andy's job is awesome.

  • excellent comment panhead55. Couldn't have put it better myself. Loud and not perfect is the best live gig!!!!

  • i love the english language. jamaicans happen to speak it the best. nice ring to it. blessed jamaica. blessed aficans offboard upbroad. whatever . yo. our roots. trace 98 % of our dna.. it goes back to africa. this is where we come from. thank you sting. for embracing reggae.

  • @NICKZEROmusic I'm fairly sure 100% of our DNA goes back to Africa.

  • basta-rize people through out the world.

speak the language of the great lords.

-keep think in what you will

    usa is a colony still.

give great respect to our lanugae

    and roots.

us bastards luv you to the root.

  • Andy Summers is way more underrated than Stewart, any day. Everyone clearly knows how great Copeland is. But Andy Summer's use of minimalism in their music couldn't properly express how amazing he really is/was while Stewart just killin it throughout most of the songs.

  • @donclermont

i kind of agree with that...of course both shine, though!

  • Stewarts drums + stings voice + andys magical guitar sounds equals: The Police !

  • Who dose not like stewart copeland

  • Its to slow

  • @cast390

    not in the chorus ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah you have to respect quality music!

  • stewart plays with a single drumstick from 1:17 to 1:30

  • Andy Summers is like Alex Lifeson--they're both great and so underrated. They're overshadowed by singing bass players and drummers who are all phenomenal. But both guitarists are every bit as important and part of their respective bands' sounds.

  • @governorgilf he play a regular beat, but he move it half a beat so the accent is in the off beat rather than in the beat

  • @governorgilf i could not agree more!

  • randomly played. love it :-D

  • CLASSIC

  • I don't know anything about drums; I didn't when I was 8 and I started listening to my dad's tape of Regatta De Blanc on my 80s yellow walkman. But I noticed Stewart's drumming. Even as a kid, I'd follow what he was doing, and noticed that it was creative, different to the "thud, thud" of other drummers. I know a lot of drummers now who say that Stewart Copeland is a great drummer, but I think that the amount of non-drummers who rate him and crucially notice him, is true testament to his talent.

  • @OhYouNastyMan u r right man.. i also know nothing about drums.. but one thing i did notice is that copeland play different kind of beat.. no one else play the drums like he did.. for this reason alone i rate him as the greatest drummer.. i dont care what everybody else had to say..

  • fake

  • the early police were fucking awesome, shame sting's mellowed so much and churns out such bland nondescript songs

  • i know, its like dance movesm but did you ever notice sting like jumps around in ever live video? haha

  • Love this band so much! Poor Andy Summers, the only short one in the group.

  • NOCHES DE FUGA!!!!! QUE TAL RECUERDOS!

  • like that song

    the beatsteaks cover it great

  • what a beautiful solo..

  • Mmmmmm...Baliiii....

  • yeah!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this solo, it's in my top 5 solos of al time

  • sting really knows how to slap that shit.

  • GREAT gig

  • Fantastic

  • I love how much low end is in this version, SICK! You can really hear the rhythm section of Sting's bass and of course Stewie's tight beats, esp. that thunderous kick drum

  • they never hated each other there only disagreements where about musical arrangements for there songs

  • come to think of it, they're all crazy good at what they do.

  • When you look at this concert, you wouldnt imagine them hating each other of stage!

  • I don't think they hated each other yet at this point coz it's 79

  • Even near the end I really don't think they hated each other as much as people say they did. Sure there was tension, but all the fighting was about how the music should be played, nothing personal at all

  • haha, i think they always hated eachother .. just took a few years to boil over

  • Stewart Copeland is still great and cute!!!!

  • hhaha oh yea luke skywalker gets it done

  • I think this was the best concert they had =)

    Thank God for Sting

  • Wow, amazing performance by each of them and together they are out of this world! Gotta love Andy's solo!

PS: I so love Sting's haircut from this period.

  • Me 2 Man...!!!

    Fuckin Great...!!!

    Yan...!!!

  • the drums sound really good in the police.

  • fucking awesome

  • Sting's pumping bass is one of the miracles in rock music history

  • This is a piece of work, a treasure!!! WOW!!! 1979!!!!! That was THE BAND of the 80's, wasn't it?

  • Yes, in 1979 they were THE BAND of the 80's.

  • i don't know if you are being sarcastic, I'm aware of the date in this vid, but the best moment of The Police were in the 80's. .. well at least for me

  • That was me being sarcastic... nevermind ;o)

  • this was wen sting was cool.

  • i love this song

  • now this is why I don't understand why people hate cops!Lol!

  • 't Is te horen dat het in Nederland gebeurd was. x)

De eerste zinnen zeggen al genoeg. :p

  • Geweldige versie, de 2e helft ook, al is dat wat meer gepiel. Maar dat is er dus afgeknipt.

  • this is real rock n roll.

  • Damn, that's so cool. Sadly, I'm living in Perú... and couldn't go to their concert :(

is there a chance they'l come? I mean Kiss came... B-52, Oasis...

  • Lastima no haber nacido antes para haber estado alli. De verdad...una latima!

  • best version i ever seen on you tube!

and in this performance andy summers makes a good live solo.... in other live videos it makes very sick solos

  • this is how sting destroyed his voice. is was worth it, i guess. you'd have to ask him.

  • Much agree, I'd have distroyed my voice for The Police legendry.

  • Och, good.

  • Barker uses the same beat from the chorus a lot

  • He visto esta presentación muchiiiiiisimas veces seguidas, no puedo dejarla de ver...me encanta!!

  • cool song by the police i luv d police so much

  • i saw them 15 times on the last tour !!!

  • I felt I needed to say this: Bloody hell

  • lucky was only able to see them twice but I still got to see them play bring on the night and they only played it less than 20 times on the reunion tour

  • i was at the last concert they played it.

  • that's not enough !

  • @ottov65 I know what you mean I went to 11 shows!!! 2007 Hartford,CT 7/31 MSG 8/3, 10/31, 11/2 Boston, 11/11 2008 Honolulu, HI 2/16,17 Holmdel, NJ 8/3 Jones Beach, LI 8/4,5 MSG-Finale 8/7. What shows did you go to?
  • @ottov65 R U Millionaire?

  • @ottov65

    you must be rich

  • This is by far is their best song. What a jam. Missed the chance to see these guys reunited last year in St. Pete and I'll never forgive myself.

  • Stewart Copeland is the man!!!

  • I have known several professional drummers and every single one of them regard Stewart as the greatest drummer in the world.

  • Which drummers have you known? I wouldn't say he is the greatest because I believe there will never be a "greatest" drummer in the world, but I do think he is worthy to be considered a god.

  • Neil Peart is god at drums. Well he did set the trend for prog. Stewart, Larry Mullen and others are like.. mini gods.

  • @Bossk89 Without a doubt the dude has the speed, skills and eyes to fucking know ahead atime what hes about to do before STING even knows. what agent, what a gent! powerhouse drummer to me. Hes pay attention man, he pays the fuck attention.

  • yes sir! if they still made bands like this i might get up and go to a show..but until then?? take a hint everyone, loud and not perfect is the best live gig....
